Beach Vacation Essentials

Beach Vacation Essentials Every summer, our family goes on a beach vacation.  This has been a tradition since our kids were old enough to travel.  The beach is about the only place we can take our family that has something for everyone.  Our teen son gets to bring a friend.  They walk around on the beach and talk to girls.  (Wait, actually they just walk around on the beach.  They’re too awkward to talk to girls.) Our girls play in the sand and swim and hubby and I just sit back and relax in the sun.  Perfect.

Along with that, I have another fun tradition – a mommy/daughter vacation shopping day!  I think my girls and I look forward to that almost as much as the trip itself.  We have lunch and spend a day out shopping for our beach wardrobes.

I’m getting really excited because school is almost out, which means we’ll be planning our shopping outing soon.  Time to start putting together this year’s beach shopping list.

But first, I’m going to show you something that I already bought.  No beach shopping list is complete without a new pair (or two) of flip flops.  These cuter than cute Tory Burch flip flops arrived at my doorstep yesterday.

Tory Burch Flip Flops

[Tory Burch Flamingo Flip Flops]

You won’t believe the deal I got on these.  They were originally $50, on sale for $35.  BUT, if you sign up for their newsletters, you get a coupon code for 10% off and FREE shipping on every order (no minimum).  So, mama scored these cuties for a mere $31.50.

Check out the other cute styles ON SALE, like these.

Or these wedges.

Next up on the list is a wide brimmed hat.  Beach sun is brutal and even with SPF 3000, I still manage to get a burned beak.  So I’ll be packing one of these pretties for protection.

A straw beach tote is a must-have.  This neon update is the perfect companion to pack your daily beach essentials.

I’m also in desperate need of one or two more cover-ups for our daily walks on the beach.  Loft has some really cute options!

[Loft Henley Swimsuit Cover Up]

And last but definitely not least, I’m in the market for a new pair of sunglasses.   These are my current faves – tortoise with a classic shape that works great on all face shapes.

  • Love that Henley swimsuit cover-up! Sooooo cute!!!!!

  • One tradition we have is to go down to the river with my aunt and her family and have a picnic. The kids play in the sand and wade in the water while the adults chit chat. We also always pack a thermos of wine to share 🙂 I love those flip flops, btw. Are they comfy? I have found that some flip flops are very stiff.

  • So loving this LOFT tote!! Great picks as always! Hope you are having a wonderful day! TGIF:-)

  • I love all of your beach essentials! Our family always, always heads to the beach one last time to say goodbye to summer right before school starts. Sometimes we splurge and stay at a resort, sometimes we rent a cabin at the KOA, but it always begins and ends with our feet pointed to the Pacific. xoxo jules ps… Enjoy these last few days of school. Are you as busy as I am? I don’t even have time to breathe!

  • Want that hat! So pretty!

  • We had a fantastic hoidlay at Beachside during early September. The house was equipped with everything we needed a real home from home and was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, being right on the beach but also a short walk to shops, cafes and a pub. The footbridge across the River Adur to Shoreham town is currently being replaced, but there is a regular shuttle bus in service. Thanks, Rae we can’t wait to go back! lablos

    • Sounds beautiful Elisa!
