Here are five outfits I created by shopping my closet.  Try applying these outfit formulas to create your own.  If you do I’d love to see them.  Tag me on social media or e-mail me a pic and show off your style.

  • Shawnda

    Thanks!!

We are on the same wave length! The first two outfits are pretty much what I’ve worn to work the past two days!

    • Great minds think alike. 😉

  • These four style combinations are perfect examples of “shopping your closet” for new and interesting ways to freshen your wardrobe.

I was standing in my closet as I was reading this post and immediately found five comparable outfits in my closet–no shopping! Tomorrow: burgundy jeans, with print sweater! Thanks Alison, I needed this!!

    • That makes me happy Janie!

  • Thanks for sharing, Alison.
It’s still summer here in Australia, but I’ve saved these for some inspiration when the cooler weather hits!
I also LOVE the idea of planning your week’s outfits and snapping a photo – I must do this!

  • Heidi

Love them all. It shows that I take your challenges for a while now. I own ALL the clothes (very similar ones) to put those outfits together. Thanks Alison !!.

    • Can’t wait to see these outfits on you Heidi!

Perfect timing! Trying not to shop and only shop my closet–and I can pretty much copy all of these. I’m liking these dressed down outfits. A LOT!

    • I’m so happy that this has helped you Denise. Snap a few photos to share with me! 🙂

  • Nice looks! And each piece can be worn with eachother. Perfect Winter capsule collection.

Thanks for great ideas. I love ankle boots ( especially this model http://www.palladiumboots.com/women/footwear/wedges/ecuador-pilot-93605-272-m), so I’ll definitely use your idea. It’s very and very beautiful and cute.

    • You’re welcome Emma. Enjoy them!

  • Meg

All of these are so adorable! I have been trying to add more burgundy to my wardrobe because I’ve been told it looks good with my red hair. Day four steals my heart everything about it is perfect!

    • Thank you Meg. I would love to see one of your outfits!
