I Feel Pretty | In Transition

Maxi Dress Summer and Fall

It’s fun to dress for fall.  No more tank tops and shorts, fall is full on real outfit time!  Everywhere I look in the fashion and blogging world, I’m already seeing fall transitional pieces and outfits.  And while I’d love to say that I’ve started working on my own fall transitional wardrobe, I’m not.  It’s still just too darn hot here to even think about it here.

But when I got this maxi dress last week from Lime Street Fashion, I thought it would be a perfect piece to experiment with a transition into fall.   As you already know, maxi dresses are one of my obsessions.  They are just so easy to wear for almost all of my mom activities.  I wore one grocery shopping yesterday!

Lime Street Fashion speaks my kind of language.  They are an online retailer that provides stylish and trendy clothing that holds up to the demands of everyday life.  The owners, Katie and Tiffany, are busy moms too.  They do their best to provide outfits for other busy moms who want to look stylish and feel comfortable so you can live your life and look fabulous doing it.

This beautiful “Andi” maxi dress is one in their collection.  And a perfect one to test out the seasonal versatility of this wardrobe workhorse.

Fall

For my fall transition, I layered on a denim shirt and added riding boots.  I like the slightly southwest vibe of this look.

  1. Great minds think alike! I also wore a maxi with a tired up chambray on my post today, such a great transitional outfit.

  2. I love how you’ve styled your maxi for Fall. I have one I can do that with too! I’ve been looking at the selection at Lime Street. I think the Jessica Tunic and the Sarah Shirt would be a fantastic transition pieces. And, I ADORE the Piper Maxi Dress! Cute clothes and great prices!

  3. So pretty, Alison! How tall are you, this maxi looks like it hits you perfectly, I always worry they’ll be too long on me, so I fear ordering.

  4. I love the Daphne maxi and the pattern of the Stephanie dress is so pretty! I love the way you transitioned your maxi from summer to fall. I can’t wait to try something similar!

  5. I like the Bethany Belted dress and also the Stephanie dress. The Sophia Ruffle is cute but not really for me. I like the Daphne too but that is another that I don’t think would look right on me.

FYI – The Pinterest link didn’t work for me… I had to go to their site to follow. Maybe it’s just my end? But I thought I’d mention it.

  6. You look gorgeous – I’m so glad I have found your site. Love following you on Facebook & Instagram. 🙂

Thanks for a giveaway opportunity, I would love to buy the Emily Skirt, or one of the other Maxi skirts.

  7. You look gorg! And YES, adding a chambray or jacket to a maxi is the perfect transition for fall…but you are so right….it’s too crazy hot to be thinking of Fall just yet! Gotta love Texas weather! 🙂 Thanks for lining up!

  8. I love the dress you have on! The colors are great and it would be a great transition piece. Love your blog…one of the first ones I read each day!

  9. It took me about 30 seconds from the time I hopped on your website to click over to Lime Street and order the dress you’re wearing. It wil be perfect for the start of school.

  10. The Daphne Maxi…I’ve had dreams about the perfect maxi and that is it. Love seeing all these fall transition looks. While I agree its much to warm yet to think of layering I am getting excited for the thought of boots and cozy sweaters. & thanks for the linkup!

  11. I love clothes that are multi-purposeful & can work for different seasons. Your beautiful FREE Maxi Dress (love the Chevron print) does just that. It’s a great dress & great giveaway.

I think you will like the outfit I am linking up today. Check it out.

Have a Good one, Ada. =)

  12. I love that maxi dress and am still in search of one that fits me well. I’m loving the ones offered by Lime Street Fashion, though, so I will definitely be looking there!

  13. I absolutely adore that maxi you’re wearing!! And guess what?! I finally bought my first maxi! I had to buy it from eBay because it was sold out online, and all they had left on eBay was a “tall” size. But I think it’ll work for me since I am tall. Plus, it’s the type of maxi that can be folded to be worn as a skirt, too. I think it’s only 2″ longer than the regular size anyway. But I’m so excited to get it! I plan to wear it with my denim jacket when the weather cools down. I had never thought to pair it with boots like you did! I love that look!! Can’t wait to check out all the gorgeous dresses at Lime Street Fashion, too!

  14. love the maxi dress two ways but i am still in denial that we should be thinking of fall outfits now… noooooo…… 🙂

  15. Cute maxi dress! Love the look of the layered chambray shirt too. It’s hard to believe it’s already fall preview time, but admittedly I don’t mind as I love fall fashion! 🙂

  16. Love this idea. I’m not buying anything strictly summer anymore because I’m already thinking fall – that happened right when the kids’ school supply lists came out. 🙂 I always think of maxi dresses as summer but it’s true they’re perfect for fall too.

  17. I love how you transitioned your maxi for fall- I do the same thing with a jean jacket, but am still working to find the perfect shoes to go with my dress, since flip flops don’t exactly scream autumn.
    Have a great weekend!
    Lori

  18. haha I love that you said fall is “real outfit” time. I totally agree! I find footwear tricky with a maxi for the fall, I see you did choose a closed-toe shoe and it looks good. I may have to rethink my maxis for fall situation.
