Makeup Monday | IT Cosmetics Review

Confession time:  I wear makeup to the gym.

Maybe that makes me vain, I don’t know.  I could go on and on about the reasons why…to cover my birthmark, to absorb sweat (ha!  that’s a good one), to not scare other people.  But I won’t. Whatever the reasons, I just do it.  It makes me feel better to face the day with even skin tone and just a hint of color.

I was recently sent the Hello Beautiful 5-piece Anti-Aging Color Collection from IT Cosmetics.  IT stands for Innovative Technology.  If you aren’t familiar with this brand, their founder, Jamie Kern suffered from problematic skin conditions which prompted her to start her own cosmetics line.  Working alongside plastic surgeons, she developed a line loaded with healthy ingredients like Vitamins A, C, and E, Biotin, Anti-oxidants and Hyaluronic Acid to name a few.

IT Cosmetics Hello Beautiful Anti Aging Color Collection Review

IT Cosmetics Hello Beautiful Anti-Aging Color Collection

This kit contains their Celebration Foundation, Tightline Full Lash Length Mascara Primer, Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara, Vitality Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lip and Cheek Stain Stick and the Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush.

I quickly dubbed this kit my “yoga makeup”.  The first time I tried it was when I was rushing out the door to yoga class.  With only a few minutes to spare for applying a little bit of makeup, I suspected this kit might be perfect.  It had just the right light makeup elements – something to even my skin tone, enhance my eyes and give me just a subtle hint of color.

You can see my full review in this video.

To my delight, the Celebration Foundation provided great coverage, yet was lightweight enough for a workout.  And the Heavenly Luxe Airbrush Foundation Brush definitely lives up to it’s name.  It gave my skin a great airbrushed quality.

Next up, I applied the Tightline Full Lash Length Mascara Primer.  I’ve never tried tight lining my eyes before but I’m now a huge fan. This product has a slim wand to get super close to the base of your lash line and can be used on upper and lower lashes.  It creates an eye lining effect without using up eye lid space

How to Tight Line Eyes

After that I applied the Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara.  OK, I’m super picky about mascara.  It has to provide lengthening and thickening without clumping.  This mascara fits the bill in every way and has quickly become my new favorite.  It comes with a patented Lash Ball Detailer tip to give more volume and lift to lashes.  I don’t even need to use my lash curler with this!

Finally, I finished off the look with a bit of color.  The Vitality Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lip and Cheek Stain Stick provides a pretty flush of natural color that hydrates.  I dotted a bit on the apples of my cheeks and patted it in with my fingers, then applied a wash of color to my lips.  It gives me the prettiest natural pink lips.

When I got home from the gym and washed my face, I was amazed at how hydrated the foundation left my skin.  Because my skin tends to be drier, my normal makeup routine has always included a liquid foundation.  I thought powders were off-limits.  This product has convinced me otherwise.

The Bottom Line:  This kit is a great stand-alone light makeup look.  It would also work great to as a base for day or night looks as well.  I love all of the healthy skin ingredients.

Available for One Day Only!

This kit is available at a special price today, Monday, March 18th only on QVC.  The Hello Beautiful 5-piece Anti-Aging Color Collection would normally retail at $155 but today only it’s just $54.96!   Be sure to check it out at HERE or at www.QVC.com.

  • I am definitely interested in the airbrush make up brush. I believe good make up brushes make a big difference. Very nice review. I don’t go to the gym, so no make up for me, LOL 🙂 Heather

  • Thanks for the review Alison….this line looks like a must -try one of these days!!!

  • I always wear makeup to the gym, even though everyone says not to. So many reasons why I should be wearing it…. they totally outweigh the reasons NOT to! HA! I really enjoyed this post, what a DEAL on the makeup on QVC! xoxo jules

  • That’s awesome that it stays put enough for workouts! I’m a sweaty mess when I exercise. Ha!

  • Hello Alison,

    • Alison

Aww, thanks so much! You made my day. 🙂

  • OMG you are the cutest thing ever!!! And believe it or not I have the same damn birthmark. It’s the worst, especially if I’ve been crying or just had my brows done. I never knew what tight lining was but now it makes sense and I have to try it! I usually wear a quick line of eyeliner and one coat of mascara to the gym too. Otherwise I just look tired and gross.

  • I can’t live without my IT brow pencil, I love it and have repurchased it over and over again
Didn’t know they had the tight line thingy, I swear by Laura Mercier tightliner, but might have to give this a try when I run out next time
