Even though it’s been a lot of fun looking forward to fall fashion, I’m just not quite ready to let go of my favorite summer outfits yet. This chambray/maxi dress combo is one of them. I’ve worn it to church, sightseeing in New Orleans, to doctor’s appointments, even to run errands. It’s been my all-purpose summer look. I’ll be retiring it soon but here’s one last tribute to one of my summer favorites.
I’ve worn several variations of this outfit – with and without the fedora, with a head scarf, with statement jewelry – but this one with this gorgeous yellow and blue scarf from my friend Avril at School Gate Style is one of my favorites. There are so many reasons I’m feeling really blessed lately. But first and foremost today I’m celebrating 14 years of marriage to this guy.
We met 21 years ago on a blind date and I knew that he was the one from that moment. I can’t think of a better person to share my life with and the awesome responsibility of raising our three children. God created the perfect man for me.

I am in love with these Rose Royce jeans. The fit is perfect and so is the length – they can be worn with flats or heels. They have really great details too (see pics below). Yes, there’s a pic of my butt. I can honestly say I never thought I would get that brave and it’s making me cringe a little. Today is a recap post of some of my favorite summer outfits. Why a recap? Well, I have two really good reasons.
1. It’s August in Texas. Translation: I won’t dress in real outfits for a few more weeks. So why pretend, right? I could show you my daily outfits this week but you’d get sick of tank tops, shorts and flip flops really fast. IT’S HOT, YA’LL!!!
Yes, that says a high of 106 today!
2. My photographer (hubby) is traveling for work. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled outfits next Wednesday. But until then…
