Back to School Spa Party

Alison and Aubrey Spa Party Forget the holidays – back to school is by far the busiest time of year for our family.  So over the weekend, my teen daughter Aubrey and I took some time to unwind by hosting a mother/daughter back to school spa party.  It was a totally girly afternoon of pampering facials, pretty mani/pedi’s and tasty bites.

Alison Spa Party Products The teens tested out products from Clean and Clear® for their facials.  Morning Burst® Fruit Infusions™ smoothing facial scrub was one of their faves. Aubrey said it smelled awesome and made her face feel “as smooth as a baby’s bottom”.   She’s been battling breakouts since school started a few weeks ago.  Between gymnastics practice four hours every evening and the stresses of her first year of high school, establishing a good skin care routine to battle breakouts has been a must.  Clean and Clear® makes a whole line of products just for breakout prone skin.  She has been using the Advantage® Acne Spot Treatment for existing blemishes and Persa-gel® 10 to prevent new ones.

clean and clear products The moms sipped mimosas while pampering ourselves with calming Aveeno® products.  My favorite product was the Aveeno® Active Naturals® Ultra-Calming® makeup removing wipes.  They smell incredible and are extremely gentle yet effective.  I have very sensitive facial skin.  Each time I use a new facial product it takes about a week for my skin to adjust – there’s always some level of irritation or redness.  Not the case with these wipes, my skin felt soft, smooth and comfortable after using them.

  1. Is a really good idea. Personally, didn’t find the time to pamper myself since September started, but should try to do a break and follow your example

  2. Ok you seriously look like a teenager, it’s always fun to pamper yourself. I didn’t have time to do it this weekend, but I love giving myself a facial and a nice pedi.

  3. Your girls are beautiful Alison and this looks like so much fun! It is so important to teach our girls good skin care habits! I will be trying a few pf these products! Thanks! Susan

  4. What a fun tradition for you and your girls! Back to school is definitely our busiest time of year too. Most of the time I lock myself in the bathroom to pamper myself with waxing, nail polish, and a facial 🙂

  5. That sounds like such fun! I remember my mom and I used to do mini spa days when I was in high school, and it was tons of fun to do our nails together. And I’m with Rachelle, you seriously look like a teenager!! Note to self, steal Alison’s skincare regimen…

  6. I love it! You guys are so gorgeous, even au naturale. I personally like to spoil myself by letting myself sleep in–it’s crazy what a little more sleep can do for my skin…

  7. What a fun idea!! And by the way, you look about 16 in that first pic with your daughter!! I bet you get mistaken for being sisters all the time!

  8. What a fun day! The girls and I do pedicures at home, and I can’t wait to go to the spa with them when they are a bit older. You and your daughter could seriously pass for sisters!

  9. Oh fun! We love spa parties too! I’ll have to give these products a try; I’ve been looking for a facial cleanser for months. AND I agree, the beginning of the school year is hands down busier than the holidays for us too.

  10. Oh, my word, I was just captivated at how youthful you looked! Wow- you need to post your skincare regime for the rest of us!
