Three Spring Break Stay-cation Outfits

Woo hoo!  Spring break is finally here.

Our family is enjoying a laid back week of stay-cation outings.  We usually plan a short trip but the kids’ sports schedules wouldn’t allow it this year.  So we’re making the most of a week off and doing what we can to keep everyone entertained and happy.

Some of our plans this week include visiting an indoor water park, going to a children’s museum, playing laser tag and catching an afternoon movie.  I want to look put together but don’t want to think too hard about what I’m wearing.  Simple is always better.

Have you heard of 5 ingredient meals?  Well, I’m taking that same concept and applying it to create some easy 3 ingredient outfits.  Outfits as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Three Ingredient Outfits

Splashing Around

Cover up + Bikini + Flip Flops

Last year was a rebuilding year for my swimsuit collection so I invested in not one, but two Trina Turk bikinis.  They come in flattering, yet not too revealing cuts and I love the cute details.  Totally worth the spend!

A Day at the Museum

Bright cardigan + Boyfriend jeans + Comfy shoes

Jill at Glamamom turned me onto these Gap Sexy Boyfriend Jeans.   They are hands-down one of my favorite pairs of jeans ever and right now they’re 20% off!  Get them, you WILL love them.

Laser Tag

Sweatshirt + Yoga Capris + Athletic shoes

Our competitive family loves a good game of laser tag.  You better believe I’ll be dressed to win!

An Afternoon at the Movies

Striped knit + Bright denim + Ballet flats

Movie theaters are always a little too cold for my liking.  This knit provides just the right amount of warmth.

Are you inspired to create some 3 ingredient outfits?  What ingredients would yours include?

I’ll also be carrying this new zipper pouch from Gussy Sews.  This pattern is from their new spring collection.  The bright coral and turquoise go great with many of the colors in my spring palette.  Check out all of their bright, colorful tote bags and accessories HERE.

I Feel Pretty

It’s time for this week’s link party.  But first, let’s take a look at last week’s Pretty of the Week.

She’s the sweet and beautiful Lauren of Style Elixir!

Her crisp white jeans, pop of pink and sparkly silver blazer are perfection.

  1. You know simple outfits are the name of my game! Loving all of these! Simple outfit always includes a wardrobe basic for me. Like jeans, or a white tee or ballet flats. 🙂 Love the museum outfit and checking out those swimsuits right now! I’ve been eyeing a pair of those nikes for some time. Gotta snag them before I go back to Turkey.
You will be the cutest mom around, Alison!

  2. I love the day at the museum and movie outfits! I want to wear them now! We’re on spring break too 🙂

  3. I like all your combos 🙂 What I haven’t worn a lot is the white shirt and at all is the chambray shirt, so I think I’ll give them a try. Thanks for the fun party!

  4. Thanks for posting this! 1, 2, 3 outfits really work for me. I need easy ideas for getting out with our twins. They’re on spring break from preschool in a few weeks. Need to start planning!

  5. Love Lauren’s sparkly blazer! And that tote bag is adorable and seriously perfect for Spring!
I love the idea of 3 ingredient outfits 🙂 Nice and simple for a busy fun Spring break. That movie outfit is especially cute. We still have 2 weeks until our Spring break but we’re going all out and cruising in the Bahamas! I couldn’t be more excited!! I might just use this 3 ingredient idea to pack for it..

  7. Trina Turk bikinis are my favorite!! They are so well made and have great detailing work. I must confess I definitely have more than two of them 🙂 You can catch them on sale at Dillards at the end of the season so they are more affordable!

  8. I vote that mommies should get Spring Break! We should get free childcare, and an all expenses paid vaycay to an island with no Sesame Street on the TV, and lots of free mojitos!!! Who’s in?

  9. Ohmygosh! That sparkly blazer is to die for!!!

I’ll have to give my spring break some thought, since we’re heading to Chicago and I need a little fabulous 😉
