I Feel Pretty | Summer’s Faves

Five Favorite Summer Looks Today is a recap post of some of my favorite summer outfits.  Why a recap?  Well, I have two really good reasons.

1.  It’s August in Texas.  Translation:  I won’t dress in real outfits for a few more weeks. So why pretend, right?  I could show you my daily outfits this week but you’d get sick of tank tops, shorts and flip flops really fast.  IT’S HOT, YA’LL!!!

Texas Heat Yes, that says a high of 106 today!

2.  My photographer (hubby) is traveling for work.  We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled outfits next Wednesday.  But until then…

Here are five of my favorite summer outfits that have been on heavy rotation.  Bring on fall!

  • Of course I love your looks today because 4 out of 5 involve fun, colored shorts! You look fabulous in all of them!! When I saw our forecast for this morning, I about cried. Poor us!

  • Jen

I love the yellow and floral shorts! And you don’t need a good excuse to wear flip flops and tanks all week. Sometimes (ok, a lot of times) it just happens. I’m ready for some fall weather too

  • Send some of that heat this way. The temps have dropped and it feels like fall here. I don’t want summer to go away just yet! One of my favorites was the red shorts and chambray. So cute!

  • Love the maxi! But you look gorg in all the pics!

  • Great round up of summer outfits…love the light colors!! My husband used to be my photographer, but with his crazy work schedule, he got me a tripod and remote. I just take my own pictures…so much easier!!

  • The yellow shorts with the white and teal top is my favorite because you look so great in those colors. Love the watch too!

  • Oh man – that IS hot! It’s actually been a little bit below seasonal temperatures here, which has been nice for me 😉

You look so pretty in that maxi dress – I know I commented on it before, but it really does look lovely!

  • Yep, it’s hot there alright! Love the tribal shirt and shorts, so cute! Thanks for the link up!

  • I still love that Dooney bag soooooooooooo much! And all of your looks are fab!!!!

  • There is definitely something about 100 degree weather that knocks the fashion out of all of us. Does not matter, those outfits you have listed above are super cute. Thanks for hosting!

  • You rock that fedora! I have been trying them on ALL summer and the “one size fits all” does not fit my head & afro, yours looks wonderful! Have a great day Allison!! xoxo

  • So pretty, all these favorite summertime looks! I think my fave is the tribal top + yellow shorts! 🙂

  • That colorful maxi is my favorite! So fun!

  • Marla

Love your fun colorful looks! I am in DFW too and I’m surprised you even wore a sweater or chambray! It’s hot here!!!!

  • All so pretty! I love that maxi dress!

  • I love all of your summer styles – can’t pick a favorite. I love your new watch – I was tempted to buy it during Nordy’s anniversary sale. I really like that it is more like a bracelet style.

  • The heat advisory is no joke. Just walking to my car I wanted to strip all my clothes off! Love these outfits, but I am truly ready for fall! Bring on the cooler temps!

  • Oh my goodness you must live so close to Cheer Athletics! Why aren’t those real outfits? I think they are! 🙂

  • That’s so crazy that it’s so hot where you are! Here in MN, we’ve been having fall weather already! It’s fun to start wearing my maxi dresses with chambray or a denim jacket, but I already miss shorts and tees! 🙁

  • We had 115 a few weeks back. I had to buy a new dress when I was out shopping because I’d sweated through the one I was wearing. Yep…it’s gross when it’s that hot.

My favourite look is the last one. Reminds me of a tropical drink.

    bisous

  • You’re totally making me want that maxi! It’s beautiful on you!

You look beautiful in each and every one of your outfits but I love the top one the most. I’ve added a blog post to “I feel pretty”. What a lovely idea xxx Love Liz xxx

  • That are indeed high temperatures, Alison. Your summer looks are so appropriate!
We had a a couple of weeks with lovely and hot summer weather up to the low nineties. But since I live in the mountains it always cools down at night to the mid/high sixties which allows a nice sleep as we do not have a/c here.

  • Loved the recap…I do not blame you for being a tank top and flip flops kinda gal in that heat! It’s about 100 here in CA but my freezing cold office still allows me dress normally.

  • I adore this maxi dress and am heading over to check it out right now
It has turned cool here and I am in heaven, but I know it won’t last.

  • I really love each and every one of those outfits! I feel so bad for you having to deal with such hot temperatures! I honestly feel like this has been the most mild summer we’ve ever had in Florida, so it hasn’t been as bad as usual, but I am so ready for fall, too!!

  • Haha if I had to try dressing in that kind of heat it’d be a mission for me to try and find “real clothes” too! I think your yellow shorts and tribal print shirt is such a fun outfit and so easy for those casual laid back summer days. Best of luck not melting this month!!
