April 2, 2014 - Easy Outfits, I Feel Pretty, Mother Daughter Style Series, Style

I Feel Pretty | Texan

For this month’s Mother/Daughter Style post, Cavender’s outfitted the girls and me with some western wear.  Yee haw!  If you don’t know Cavender’s then you don’t know western wear.  They are a family-owned retailer started in 1957 and are synonymous with the well-dressed Texan.

Even though I’ve lived in Texas for the past (almost) eighteen years, I was raised in Pennsylvania.  Western wear was all new to me when I moved here.  At my first job out of college, I got invited to go country line dancing (out of body experience) and then to my first western-themed charity event.  The tight jeans, cowboy boots and western shirts were like something out of a movie!

Fast forward to today and I’m totally comfortable rocking my own pair of cowgirl boots.  I love how Cavender’s offers modern western wear, like the skirts and jeans we’re wearing in today’s post, along with more traditional items.

The girls and I were easily able to find cute outfits with a fun bit of western flair.

  4. Awww! I grew up in San Antonio and this totally makes me homesick! The first time I took the husband home to visit, we made a stop at Cavenders :)You ladies look Texas great!

  5. You all look so stylish! Your daughters are adorable and look like they are having fun. I want those leopard boots for my daughter. I love the print of your skirt. It’s perfect for warmer weather.

  6. I LOVE those Aeropostal boots on your daughter. They don’t have anything like that on their website now.

    Great photos.

  7. That skirt is beautiful Alison! I would probably look out of place here in Ohio in it, but it looks amazing on you 🙂 I do rock three different pairs of cowboy boots though 🙂

  8. Love your outfit … the skirt is stunning! I’ve been coveting a pair of boots for a while. Definitely need to check out their website!

  9. By FAR my favorite post in the last month! I love the styles enough that I went online and ordered the skirt and will probably be ordering the Corky’s boots! I see them in Canton and get flip flops from them all the time! Love!

  10. I love all of these! Such a fan of mixing skirts and cute boots. I keep hoping that one day I’ll get stationed in Texas just so I can justify buying cowgirl boots and a hat.

  11. Gorgeous photos of you and your daughters first of all and you are all looking lovely in your Texas best! I am in love with the boots, especially yours and the Leopard Wellies. That Silk Maxi Skirt is the prettiest I have seen so far. I love the pattern and colors. Truly unique and beautiful.

My pleasure linking up today with my first 2 Outfits of my 30 for 30 challenge. Come take a peak.

Enjoy the rest of your week. Ada. =)
