Bright lips are everywhere this spring.  I hate to admit it but I’ve been kind of dragging my feet on this trend.  After all, I was a 90’s girl when dark lipsticks were all the rage.  Those colors must have traumatized me because I’ve been a pink and beige glossy girl ever since.

But I’m on board with the trend now and absolutely love it.  The three big lipstick trends for spring are bright red, pink and orange.  Here are some of my faves in each.

And yes, these are some of the higher end brands, but I believe every woman deserves a little luxury and lipstick is an affordable way to get it!

RED

Kate Spade Supercalifragilipstick

[Kate Spade – Supercalifragilipstick]

PINK

YSL Bright Pink Hibiscus Lipstick

[Yves Saint Laurent – Bright Hibiscus Pink]

ORANGE

[Tarte – Glamazon in Bright Coral]

  1. Alison! I’ve never worn a bright lip. Like, never. I have never worn red lipstick. ALWAYS pinky tones and nude glosses for me. Do I dare?!?

  2. I love the trend, but wasn’t sure it was for me. After all, all the blogs for ladies of a certain age (I’ll be 55 next month) say not to wear it. I got a coupon in the mail a few weeks back for a free Clinique lipstick. I went to pick it up and the color is called “All Heart”. It is bright without being in-you-face bright. I love it. I’m going to look for a pink, too. I think I’ll check into the Yves Saint Laurent. 😉

  3. The coral shade of the Tarte Glamazon is beautiful!! I had the red from a recent Glossybox and my sister took it from me, it may be time to buy another!

  4. I’m scared! To try a bright lip, that is. (I, too, went through the 90’s wearing dark. At one point I wore a chocolate brown that I’m sure was anything but sweet on me.) I think I can hear my mom cheering from heaven; she was ALWAYS telling me to put on some lipstick! In honor of mom and the current trend, perhaps today is the day! xoxo jules

  5. Such a cute look, Alison! Sorry to keep saying you’re cute, but you are! Okay, beautiful! You just look so young…..
As for lipstick, I love how the bold colors look on other beauties, but I’m a wimp. Never been brave enough to wear anything but barely pink. Oh well….some trends just aren’t meant for me. 🙁
    Have a super week!

  6. I’m loving the bright lips! You pull it off well. I’ve never been bold enough to try it!! One of these days I might just have to give it a shot. Your outfit is great, too!

  7. Love your outfit and i totally agree once you get on board with this trend you will love. I’m doing a post about this later on this week. I have always been a neutral girl but this Christmas i went crazy and bought a berry lip stain and a bright red lip stick and i love them.

  8. Pretty girl! Love the lips.
I totally get it..I was a nude or nothing lips girl for a long long time. Started with red on special occasion two years ago..than embraced orange this Spring because I wear a ton of the color and thought it would be fun. I don’t do it on the daily..but I LOVE rockin the orange lip for nights out on the town.
Hope you are having a great week.
PS..you know I adore that yellow blazer..was wearing mine yesterday…not a week goes by where I don’t wear that yellow blazer.

  9. You are speaking my language here, Lady! I’m the girl who doesn’t walk to the mailbox without a painted pout. And for me, the brighter the better! I guess you could say it’s part of my signature look and I’m loving all the bright hues out there this season. Thanks for encouraging us all to jump on the lipstick bandwagon!!! ~Sarah

  10. Oh my gosh I LOVE that yellow blazer!! SO perfect for spring! I think that’s the next thing on my shopping list, bright fun blazers. They’re so easy to spruce up an outfit! Looking lovely as always, hope you are having a wonderful day!

  11. Gorgeous pics! Your outfit is amazing. Love the yellow combo and obsessing over that necklace! So cute!

  12. I just can’t wear a very bright lip. Fortunately for us, YOU can! Lovely. Another reminder from this post for me … put on a damn necklace when wearing a Breton, Jan. I love this one, and have a penchant for metal tassels. One at a time. In the middle.
And another lesson … a bright lip makes a yellow blazer more wearable for more women. Trying to picture it with a nude lip, and can’t. You’re such a pro. Where are the reality TV people who should be begging you to do a style series?
