Remember my favorite popover tunic that I couldn’t get enough of this spring? Well it’s back for summer! I spied it in store last week in this bright Caribbean blue and just couldn’t help myself. This top has already proven it’s versatility in the spring – it looks great with skinny jeans and white capris and now it’s making it’s debut with shorts too. It’s such a great buy that you’re going to want more than one color. One word of purchasing advice, get it in a size bigger than you normally wear and don’t put it in the dryer. It runs a little on the small side and shrinks if dried.
Don’t you think it just asks to be paired up with this necklace and some metallic sandals? It’s a simple beachy look that’s just perfect for vacation.

Even though it’s *not quite* July yet, it is time for another installment of my Selfie Style Diary. Once a month, I do a recap of some of my favorite everyday outfit selfies that were posted on Instagram.
This past week I participated along with the GYPO Summer Style Challenge and wore each day’s outfit. Not to toot my own horn (toot toot!) but I can see why you girls love the challenge. It sure does make getting dressed every day a lot easier! One less thing to think about in a day is a great thing.
Here were last week’s style challenge outfits along with my interpretations of them.
Sunday
I love maxi skirts for church and felt cool and comfortable in this all day.

Monday
This casual outfit was perfect for a day of running errands and taking Ava to the barn for her riding lesson.

Tuesday
The girls and I went out to lunch and did some shopping on Thursday. I wore my new tribal print tank with khaki shorts.

Wednesday
I’ve gotta admit this is one of my favorite outfits for summer. It’s so simple yet looks so perfectly put together!

Thursday
For my hair appointment on Thursday, I went with a variation of the challenge outfit by keeping the printed shorts and tank, but adding a denim jacket and swapping the wedges for sandals.

The style challenge made it getting ready so easy that I’m going to wear the outfits again this week too. 🙂

Today’s Ask Alison question was posted in the Summer Style Me Pretty Challenge Facebook group from one of the challengers.
I could use some cute, easy ways to style my hair up for summer. Nothing too crazy that requires an extra set of hands or a ton of products. All of the ones on Pinterest say they’re easy but then they end up being 17 steps. Help! – Ashley
Well, Ashley you’re in luck because all of my hairstyles take seconds to master. Yes, you read that right, SECONDS. Most of them are only three steps. How’s that for super simple?
You just need to start out with clean, dry hair. Actually one of them only requires your hair to be clean, not dry and with the others it can be dirty. So scratch that.
I told you this would be easy, right?
Sound too good to be true? Then watch this quick video I put together with my four super simple summer hairstyles. These are my go-to hairstyles when it’s just too hot to make much of an effort.

TGIF pretties! Over in Summer GYPO Style Challenge land we are finishing out our first full week of outfits. One of my favorite parts of the challenge is seeing each challenger’s spin on the daily outfit. If you’re not familiar with how the style challenge works, each participant is given a shopping list of outfit essentials. After they have the pieces in place, I give them 21 days worth of daily outfits created from them. Modifications and substitutions are A-OK and actually highly encouraged!
The two comments I’ve heard the most during this first week are:
1. It’s SO nice not having to think about what I’m wearing every day.
2. I’m way out of my comfort zone…and it feels good!
Continuing in the tradition of the Spring GYPO Style Challenge, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite looks from each of the three weeks of the summer outfits.
Here are my week one outfit picks.
On day three of the challenge, we styled a red/white striped shirt with khaki shorts, a long necklace and metallic sandals.

Day four consisted of printed shorts with a bright tank, long necklace, a fedora and wedges.
