A few weeks ago, Craig and I did something totally uncharacteristic and spontaneous. We booked a last minute trip! OK, so not exactly living on the wild side but if you know what a huge planner I am, it’s pretty shocking.
We’ve both been working really hard lately, he’s been traveling for work and I worked for over a month straight, including weekends, with no days off. On a Thursday night, I made an offhand comment about how much I just wanted to be on a beach in Mexico and a few minutes later the trip was booked to leave on Saturday! I had one day to get packed which was no small feat when all of my summer clothes were in storage.
It was a whirlwind but totally worth it! Here’s a picture of us the evening we arrived.
It was a much needed, completely relaxing four days spent on the beach and doing little else, except eating, of course.
When I posted the pic above on Instagram, this floral dress created quite the buzz. It was a last minute Target purchase that I stuffed into my suitcase the day before. I didn’t even try it on and kept the tags on just in case. Imagine my surprise when I ended up loving it so much. Sizing Tip: I’m wearing an XS, it runs true to size.

It’s the day of the week at GYPO where we celebrate what makes us feel pretty. Whether it’s a new outfit, hairstyle, or makeup, the I Feel Pretty link up is about anything and everything that makes your life prettier. Even if you’re not a blogger, you can still play along. Just tell me what made you feel pretty this week in the comments.
Welcome to another edition of SAHMonday – outfit inspiration just for the stay at home and work from home moms of the world (like me!) who aren’t heading out of the house on Monday morning. You can check out the other outfits in this series here.
These outfits are perfect for when you want to feel comfortable, yet put together, so that you can face the day and any errands you may need to run. Plus, most of these outfit formulas can be pulled straight from your closet!
Closet Staples Series
While we wait for spring to arrive, I thought it would be fun to explore some of the spring outfits from the new Closet Staples Capsule Wardrobe Builder. If you’re not familiar with it, this is my online styling program to help you rebuild your closet with staples that you can use year-round. It also includes 64 mix and match outfit ideas that cover all four seasons of the year. Check out week one’s outfit to see how I styled a navy sweater with olive jeans.
Today I’m styling Outfit 3 from the spring capsule – a denim shirt, striped top, white jeans and leopard sneakers. This one is one of my all time favorites! If you don’t have a bright purse, try subbing in a pair of bright shoes.
Remember – you can try out this outfit formula using pieces from your closet. Be creative and substitute where you need to! Because I shop my closet a lot, sometimes my pieces are no longer available but I link up similar items.
My white jeans from Loft have been one of my year-round closet staples. If you’re afraid of getting them dirty, rest assured, a little bleach and they’re good as new!
I never thought I’d wear black jewelry yet I’ve been wearing this necklace and these earrings 2-3 times per week.
Every woman should have at least one great striped tee in her closet. I LOVE my artist tee.

It’s a super duper exciting week and here’s why – the Style Challenges® Spring 2018 Capsule Wardrobe opens on Friday! If you need a little help updating your wardrobe for spring, I’ve got you covered.
Today I’m going to share a few of the cool new things I’ve got up my sleeve for the spring style challenge.
But first, I’ve got something that will help you if you’ve ever struggled with picking your most flattering colors. During last season’s style challenge, we had a color expert come in for a Q&A interview in our private Facebook group. We’ve also recently started providing visuals of what our capsules look like using different palettes.
This spring, we put together yet another color palette resource which I’m thrilled to share with you today. Use the following guide to determine your undertone and choose the colors that make you look and feel more confident.
Tip: Pin this resource to save your colors for future reference!
As you can see from the above color palettes, blush is one of the colors that works for both warm and cool undertones. Today I’m styling a blush blouson sleeved sweatshirt with a pair of embroidered hem jeans and mules. My sweatshirt very recently sold out but this similar one is lighter weight and perfect for spring.
The embroidered and frayed details on the hems of these jeans are such a fun detail. My mules are almost sold out, but this similar pair with a bow is even cuter!
This rose gold clover necklace is perfect with blush and just about any other spring color. It’s simple yet statement making.

I warned you that these next few outfit posts would involve a whole lotta remixing! Today I’m remixing my graphic tee from this post with mules and jeans from this post and adding a pink moto jacket.

I am so glad I was part of the Fall 2019 Style Challenge. It gave me confidence and so many great outfitt ideas. The ladies in the group were very supportive and I will defintetly be doing another challenge in the future.

I’ve been participating in the GYPO Style Challenges for three years now and I’ve loved it. I’ve always loved clothes, but I didn’t know how to put outfits together. My closet is now full of mix-and-match outfits, I have learned how to dress myself, and there is no more stress in figuring out to wear. The private FB group is full of wonderful ladies that build each other up. It’s so fun and is seriously the best group on FB.

Get Your Pretty On has changed my life, seriously. I have always chased what is trendy but found from season to season, that things go out of style and I was wasting money on items that I would only end up wearing a few times. GYPO has enabled me to simplify my closet, helps me make smarter purchasing decisions, and I feel so put together and confident using the outfit formulas that are provided. This program is a GAME CHANGER. I've been following GYPO for a few years now and my only regret is not jumping on board sooner.

Great community of ladies, helping each other look stylish, without breaking the bank, and using much of what you already own.
Chosen Faith November 19, 2019
GYPO challenges have been one of the best things I have done! It had taught me so much more than just creating a closet of clothes that I love but also to have confidence in myself, how to pick and choose colors that work for me instead of against, and had given a wonderful community of Pretties who are so special.
