Feel Good Friday | Part Two

TGIF pretties!  I hope you’ve had a great week.  Mine has been pretty darn good, I must say.  The past few weeks since starting the Spring Style Me Challenge have been some of my busiest in my life but also some of the most inspiring and fulfilling.  Just check out the confidence in these ladies and you’ll see why!
Spring Style ConfidenceI have gotten SO many stories of inspiration from this challenge that I just have to keep sharing them.  Here’s a little dose of some feel good reading for your Friday.  I hope you love it as much as I do!

“This experience has been amazing.  The Facebook group of other ladies, the postings and encouragement were way above what I expected.  I had NO INTENTION of posting any pictures of myself! 🙂  I just thought I would follow along on my own but…..I couldn’t stop myself from being involved!  I felt safe to post pictures even if they were awkward and not “perfect.”  I have gone WAY out of my comfort zone this week and I feel great.  My family thinks I have gone crazy a little bit and my daughter has asked me if I am having a mid-life crisis BUT I felt amazing wearing WHITE PANTS on Monday.  I would have NEVER purchased some of the items on my own and tried different things but I am so glad I did.  I cleaned out 3 giant trash bags of clothes out of my closet and I have purchased some other new items that fit me better and make me feel confident.  I am only 42 — I think I finally woke up and figured out that I can still be in fashion.  I don’t have to just give up and blend in so I don’t draw attention to myself.  Thank you so much for doing this.  I look forward to future challenges!” – Janet

This challenge has brought a NEW me. I am a teacher, a mom, wife, and this has helped bring a smile to my face every day! I am getting compliments on my outfits from teachers and my students are loving the accessories!” – Karan

“I entered this challenge because even though my life could not get any better, I’ve always been insecure about my appearance. Except for losing baby weight, I’ve never struggled with my body. I’ve always considered myself reasonably attractive. Nothing special but good enough. My finances allow me to spend a moderate amount of money on beauty and clothes. I’ve never been stopped by stranger and generally don’t get noticed. Don’t get me wrong – I’m extremely confident about my abilities, but not how I look. This week I have turned a corner. When I enter the office in the morning, the secretaries stop me to check me out. A total stranger at Target told me she loved my bright green trench coat and my scarf. Even middle school students have noticed that I’m looking different. And they approve.  Earlier this week I texted my husband “I feel pretty” and he texted back “You ARE!” Maybe after a few more weeks of this I will believe it.” – Laura

“Besides having a ton of fun waiting for each day’s outfit to be revealed and tweaking it to fit my style, one of the best aspects of the Style Me Challenge has been the positive new friends I’ve connected with on the Challenge Facebook page! The kind words, humor, and genuine care for others have been such an inspiration and encouragement to me. No matter the age, body shape, or walk of life, it’s been a confidence builder to have a safe place to show my style! – Jena

“Just the thought of having all the right pieces and being ready to go out without having to stress about what to wear sounded like a dream. I had to sign up.  It’s been exciting, from getting the list on the first day to the unveiling of the outfits each day, but little did I know that the Facebook group would be the highlight of this Challenge. I’m always checking the page to see the new posts. The people are very encouraging to each other. How in the world do you have the nicest and most caring followers?!  My family and friends have given me many compliments and feel that I am getting out of my comfort zone. I feel that too. The great thing about all of this is that even when I’m not physically feeling my best, looking good on the outside can make a big difference on how I feel on the inside. And for me, that’s totally worth it. 🙂  Thank you, Alison, from the bottom of my heart.” – Cathy

“First of all I would like to thank you for doing this. This is something I’ve needed for a long time. I’m a single hard working mommy of 3 kids, 2 with special needs. Both are doing very well now that I feel comfortable to give me some me time. I work with a bunch of guys for over 10 years and It’s got to the point that I feel just like one of the guys and I’m ready to feel like a women again. This is teaching me how to put outfits together and trying new things.  I’m definitely stepping out of my comfort zone with “The Scarf” LOL and the Maxi. The ladies in this group are awesome, supportive and funny. It’s definitely a pick me up and I feel good about myself. I’m looking forward to the summer challenge.” – Christine
