June 11, 2014 - Better You, Easy Outfits, I Feel Pretty, Style

I Feel Pretty | Graduated

I had a different post scheduled today but on Monday I posted a photo from my son’s graduation that ended up creating quite a buzz around the dress I wore.  You wanted to know where I got it and how I paired it up.

It’s a black sheath faux wrap dress from Tahari that I picked up on clearance for a steal.  It was love at first sight.  Bad fashion blogger that I am (I never really claimed to be a good one),  I didn’t even get any full-length pictures of what I wore.  So I tried my best to recreate the whole outfit from the night – black dress, coral accessories, leopard heels and a color block purse.  Unfortunately, I can’t link up my exact dress but here’s a very similar one that’s definitely not so budget-friendly.

Graduation Dress

Tahari dresses fit me amazingly well, every time. The styles are so classic and are my go-to for special occasions.  So when they go on sale, I try to add a new one to my collection.  Here are some other Tahari styles that I love.

And here are a few more photos from the evening.

Our proud family posing with the graduate.

Just for fun, here’s a little throwback to my graduation year.  I’m not sure which is more impressive, the ginormous sleeves or the even bigger hair.  Hmm, maybe I didn’t always have such good taste in dresses!

  • Ummmm….yes my dear! That dress you wore was SPECTACULAR!! Wow! So fabulous on you in every single way and I had 10 guesses of where it was from…none were correct…my first guess was White House Black Market…dang I was so sure! Apparently I’m not a very good fashion blogger..lol.

  • Your hair and dress!! I think I have a similar picture of myself from around 1990… I just bought my first Tahari dress, a black ,sleeveless little number that only put me back $29! (For a $198 dress, that’s not too bad!) Hope you have a great weekend….I’m trying to get caught up on blogs after being gone for 3 weeks.

  • You look amazing – love the coral accessories with the black! And congratulations to your new graduate!
