My Everyday Escape with Sonia Kashuk

Sometimes, my life just plain stinks.

Don’t get me wrong. I have a really great life.

There are just a lot of moments in it that smell bad.

With three kids in demanding sports, my days are filled with a variety of odors. From horse barns to gym bags to smelly locker rooms, it can be an olfactory overload!

How does a mom manage to escape the odors and find some freshness in her day? Here’s a little video to show you what I do.My everyday escape involves the new luxurious Bath and Body collection by Sonia Kashuk available exclusively at Target. These products are a little bit of an indulgence that busy moms can easily pick up while out shopping. I love that I can swing by the beauty section while on one of my (almost) daily trips to Target. No need to make a trip to the mall to get bath and body products at a specialty store.

Sonia Kashuk Bath and Body

There are 24 indulgent products in the line with four exquisite fragrances including the delicate Pink Innocencia, sensual Purple Seductia, uplifting Yellow Alluriana and voluptuous Red Promisia. These scents come in an eau de toilette, creme body wash, shower gel, body butter, hand cream and body lotion. Select scents are also available in a body polish and body oil.

I received the Red Promisia eau de toilette, Purple Seductia hand creme and Yellow Alluriana body butter to try out. The texture, fragrances and packaging of these products are every bit of what you’d expect from a high-end brand. The Red Promisia eau de toilette’s combination of sandalwood, jasmine and vanilla is the perfect everyday fragrance. I love spritzing it on right before I head out for the day. The hand creme in Purple Seductia has a richer fragrance of pomegranate, rose and patchouli. It’s ultra-moisturizing and fast absorbing. My favorite product in this trio is the Yellow Alluriana body butter. The uplifting scent of grapefruit, verbena and musk is energizing. The body butter melts into your skin and leaves it moisturized all day without a smidge of greasiness. All three of the products leave a long lasting yet not overpowering scent that lingers throughout the day.

Sonia Kashuk Hand Creme

I’ve been stashing the hand cream in my purse. When I walk out of the stable, I can instantly feel fresh by wrapping my hands in the luxurious scent of the Purple Seductia hand cream. The aromatherapy fills up my car and suddenly I’ve found a little good smelling “me time” in the midst of my busy, stinky schedule.

Couldn’t you use an everyday escape too?

  • Love the video, you did a great job. I love hand creams and always get mine at Target will check it out.

  • Alison! The video is SO GREAT! You are awesome on camera!!!! And thanks for introducing me to these products. I’ve never heard of them and they sound amazing. Can hardly wait to try them!

  • Allie

Have to go to Target today so I will take a peek and see if I can score a few things. I love Target’s skin care items so I can’t wait to see this line. My girls, 11 and 10, are starting to love “pretty” stuff too so it is fun to be able to share with them some of the finer things without spending a ton. Good life lessons..

  • I love taking escaping by taking long, hot showers after a long day and using lots of fragrant shower gels and lotions. These products sound great, I’ll have to look for them when I am at Target next (probably later today)!

  • They look like great products 🙂

  • I escape by going to Target. Don’t all moms do that? lol

  • Ha ha! My life can get stinky too with a dancer and a dog. We also got crop dusted by a stinky diaper at the dance studio the other day. It was a body spray kind of moment!

  • Aromatherapy is the best Alison….& I’ve been wanting to try Sonia Kashuk products for quite a while now!

  • I think I need to pick up some of that Yellow Alluriana Body Butter! My escape? A book I keep only in the car… anytime I’m early for carpool or an appointment I bring it out and escape for a few minutes!

  • Susanne N.

Usually escaping for me involves a good book or an old movie. I love when I can forget everything else and do one of those things!

  • Marchelle

Though not horse barns and gym bags, I can relate to the stinkiness of a mom’s everyday life. I have three young children, so crudely, though honestly, bedwetting, pottytraining and diaper changing are my everyday smelly experiences. I default to gentle soaps like Method’s Sweet Water or Cuccumber or Green Things Olive Lime to feel fresh and then add a li’l Body Shop Mango Body Butter or just a shea butter to my very sensitive skin; if those don’t cut it, there’s always D&G Light Blue to reapply.

  • Great video! I totally clam up on camera, I’ve always been that way. I visit Target several times a week as well, so I’ll definitely check this out. One way that I make time for myself is by exfoliating in the shower and I ALWAYS moisturize after. I have homemade lotions I use, great whipped body butters I have gotten and other beautiful smelling moisturizers. I think it’s so important to keep your skin hydrated and feeling healthy, esp as the winter is nearing here in Minnesota! Thanks for sharing!

  • Nicole E.

A spa pedicure is always high on my list to pamper myself!

I escape by sitting with my coffee a good book and a blanket in a quiet house, that escape isn’t often but I will have plenty of quiet when I’m an empty nester so I’m not gonna complain !

  • Donna Czekner

I don’t have much “me-time,” but one thing I always squeeze in is applying a deliciously smelling body butter on my freshly shaven legs. Makes me feel like a million bucks!!!

  • Autum

I escape by locking myself in my bathroom with a good book while taking a nice long soak and shutting out the world. (ie-all my cares and responsibilities!)

  • I love when we mama’s can find a way to add a little glam in life without breaking the bank!! Can’t wait to try! 🙂 I smell great swag ideas to add to friend gifts too!

  • My escape is pretty much my blog and a glass of wine 🙂 It’s fun to think about fashion and beauty after a long day of work and teaching. Thanks for sharing these, I’ll have to try them out.

  • hl

  • This sound really lame, but I take an extra shower at night. In the morning I’m so rushed to get my son and get the day started, but at night I can take my time shaving my legs and washing my hair. Nothing feels better than crawling into bed after you are all clean and smelling good. It’s a quick way to pamper myself at the end of the day.
