Trend Watch | Pastels for Fall

Trend Watch | Pastels for Fall

Along with traditional jewel tones and deep, saturated hues, a surprising color trend is making it’s debut this fall – pastels.

The good news is that this trend can extend the wear of some of your favorite pastel pieces from spring and summer.  Think twice before you store those pink, lavender, mint and yellow cardigans, blouses, blazers and jeans.

I decided to give it a try with my favorite pair of mint jeans.  Adding a navy jacket and leopard heels helped to ground the look and make it more fall-like.

If you don’t have a pair of pastel jeans yet, it’s not too late.  Here’s an option in corduroy also made by Kut from the Kloth.  These jeans fit me so well – they have the perfect rise, not too high or too low. Their corduroys come in eight different colors.

These would look great paired with a chunky beige sweater and some ankle boots.

Your Bijoux Box CollageOver the past few weeks, I’ve featured these three gorgeous pieces of jewelry from Your Bijoux Box.  Your Bijoux Box is a monthly box subscription service that delivers two to three pieces of hand curated jewelry to your front door – all for $35 a month.

All of the pieces I received are very high quality.  The clasps, weight and craftsmanship are what I’d expect from a high end retailer.  I also love that a little card is included each month with suggestions for pairing up the pieces.

Your Bijoux Box has an extra special offer for readers of GYPO.  Sign up for a box subscription HERE and you’ll receive the black bracelet pictured above for FREE!  Just enter code PARTY3 at checkout.

It’s Your Turn:  Will you be wearing pastels this fall?  Tell me in the comments!

Bright lips are everywhere this spring.  I hate to admit it but I’ve been kind of dragging my feet on this trend.  After all, I was a 90’s girl when dark lipsticks were all the rage.  Those colors must have traumatized me because I’ve been a pink and beige glossy girl ever since.

But I’m on board with the trend now and absolutely love it.  The three big lipstick trends for spring are bright red, pink and orange.  Here are some of my faves in each.

And yes, these are some of the higher end brands, but I believe every woman deserves a little luxury and lipstick is an affordable way to get it!

I Feel Pretty | Fresh

Minty fresh that is.

Even though emerald is officially the color of the year, I’m really crushing on it’s lighter, cooler cousin, mint.  Mint has risen to the top of my spring colors list for it’s versatility, it works as a neutral with everything.

Payday Pretty | Date Night Dressing

Payday Pretty | Date Night Dressing

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I’ve got cute date night looks on the brain.  Hubby and I are pretty good about scheduling regular date nights.  But they are usually to casual neighborhood eateries so I don’t make much effort in the outfit department.

But I do try a little harder for special occasions and our annual Valentine’s dinner out is one of them.  It’s hard to justify buying a whole new outfit for just one night out. So I try to work with basics that I already own to create a special look.

This week, I decided to challenge myself to create some looks built on items that you and I probably already have in our closets.
