Summer Dreaming | Pevonia Spa Clinica
February is one of my favorite months because in the middle of the dreary days of winter, I’m finalizing our summer vacation plans! We usually end up planning two trips – a family vacation and an anniversary getaway. Let’s be honest, family vacations are for kids. For parents, they require a whole lotta work. I’m not complaining though, we always have a blast, but if you’re a mom then you know what I mean.
The anniversary trip on the other hand, is a true treat!
A week with zero responsibilities, no kids to keep an eagle eye on at the beach, no meals to cook or clean up from, no laundry, no early morning wake-ups. Just total downtime and quality time with my hubby. Heaven!
The past few years we’ve gone to the same locale, an adults only all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico called Secrets Maroma Beach. It is pretty darn close to heaven on earth.
But don’t take my word for it. Here’s a mini-tour.

One of the highlights of our trip is booking a day of treatments at the resort’s world class spa by Pevonia.
I usually book a full day to enjoy the hydrotherapy circuit, get a massage and indulge in one of their signature Pevonia facials.

Or for even more personalized support they offer the option of a free video analysis. You just have to take a picture of yourself, make-up free, and e-mail it to them. A professional aesthetician will then either e-mail you a video or video chat with you to deliver your customized analysis. Pretty cool!
My custom regimen is the Skin Perfecting Regimen with Retinol to target sun damage and spots. It includes a cleanser, toner, wrinkle serum and moisturizer. This is an easy skin care regimen that even I can maintain. After just five days of using it, my skin is glowing!
The products are all light, non-greasy and non-irritating. The cleanser effectively removes all of my make-up without stripping my skin or making it feel dry. The toner is invigorating and the serum is light and absorbs quickly. But the moisturizer has to be my favorite product of all. It comes in a large jar that will last forever. A little goes a long way, it’s very lightweight yet incredibly moisturizing. Perfect.
My favorite part? The first time I used the products, the scent instantly transported me back to the resort’s spa. I’ve never used products that smell so incredible. The scent is not heavy or overpowering, it’s light and fresh and lingers for awhile.
