Quick Hairstyles to Hide Bangs

About a year ago, I thought it would be a good idea to get bangs cut into my hair.  While I loved them at the time (Hello?  They hide forehead wrinkles better than Botox!) I did get bored with the way they limited how I could style my hair.

Fast forward a year.  They are STILL growing out.  At least now I can tuck them behind my ear or style them so they blend in with my longer layers.

But there are days when they misbehave, big time.  Thank goodness I still have a few tricks up my sleeve from the days when my bangs were shorter.  Here are some quick and easy hairstyles I discovered to disguise bangs.

Quick Hairstyles to Disguise Bangs

1. Braid your bangs.

This is one of my favorite ways to disguise my bangs.  Part them to the side and french braid into your longer layers.  Secure them at the end with a bobby pin.

2.  Twist and pin.

Blow dry bangs to the side.  Grab them in one section and give them a few twists away from your forehead.  Pin them to the side using two bobby pins crossed over one another to secure.

3.  Wear a headband.

Wet bangs.  Using a comb or brush, blow dry them straight back, away from your face.  Place an elastic band or head band over them.  Spray lightly.

  1. Love the ideas! Too bad they won’t work for growing out my crown that I accidentally chopped several months ago. Meant to texture my crown but grabbed the wrong scissors and chopped! Ugh! Blaming the fact I had three small children crying/whining at the time!

  2. thank you for this, im still growing mine out from last year when I thought my hair suddenly changed and i could have bangs, newsflash, i couldn’t haha!

  3. Your braid is so cute!! I always want to try that, but it looks like it would be too difficult to do myself. I’ve never been good with French braids, though.

  4. Those are some really good and easy to style suggestions! This comes at just the right time as I’m getting sick of my bangs being in my eyes all the time. (I love them, I just don’t love trimming them every month 🙂 I’m going to try out the braiding tomorrow!

  5. Great ideas for bangs!! When I was in highschool, I stupidly let my father attempt to cut my hair. I looked like an emu for half a year…. and ever since then, I’ve never had bangs again. BUT… i will keep this in mind if I change my mind in the near future 🙂
    Thanks for sharing!!

  6. Ah yes, misbehaving bags. I am almost always super irritated by them the night before my exam (which is every three weeks) … may be because I am trying to cram as much material I can in my little brain and can’t be bothered by them. :p Thanks to whoever came up with the idea of braids, they are life saver! 🙂

  7. Love that braided look super cute!
I always think I want to cut bangs but I’m happy don’t because I know I will want them to grow out right away. Lol

  8. I know so many people who have tried bangs and then decided they didn’t like them. The good old twist or braid is an awesome option. I love my bangs but once in a while when I’ve been too lazy to cut them…

  9. I think you may have just read my mind! My bangs are so obnoxioiusly annoying lately! I’ve been doing the twist and pin a lot, but I don’t have much else in my hair arsenal. I love the braid!

  10. I have zero bangs. Well, you know, they’re as long as my hair as a whole. However, if I did have them, they’d make me look like a poodle.
