February 11, 2015 - Easy Outfits, I Feel Pretty, Style

I Feel Pretty | In Skirts

Since my corporate days are (thankfully) a thing of the past, I don’t dress up much anymore.  Honestly, sometimes I REALLY miss it.  Nothing makes me feel more feminine than a great fitting pencil skirt with a tucked-in blouse and some heels.

But one of the best things about blogging is I get to play dress up when I want.  🙂

OK, so playing dress up at the barn isn’t ideal but this is an example of one of those outfits that makes me feel like I can conquer the world.  Skirts and heels give me that powerful combination of confidence and femininity like nothing else.  The same goes for dresses but I’ve always been partial to skirts for some reason.

Here are some other ways to wear different lengths and styles of skirts.  Which one is your favorite?

Midi Skirt Red midi skirt with a white short sleeve top

Aline Skirt Classic a-line skirt with a maroon sweater

Mini Skirt White mini skirt with a button down blouse

I have worn my leopard skirt with a red blouse before. Your outfit is stunning. I also adore the outfit with the red midi skirt and the one with the floral maxi skirt. It is nice that you posted this today because I am also linking up an outfit with a fun, bright yellow skirt. Check it out. Always a pleasure stopping by beautiful Alison!

Happy Valentine’s Day dear! <3 Ada.

    • Great minds think alike Ada. Love the leopard skirt and red blouse. 🙂

  • I love your pencil leopard skirt, it’s classy but still flirty! All of these options are so pretty and feminine thanks for the inspo.

    • You’re welcome Marta. Have a great week.

  • I like the barn back drop! The red skirt is my favorite – it just makes such a statement!

    • Thanks Morgan. It was fun shooting at the barn.

  • I love your leopard skirt!! Great for all seasons! I still struggle with maxi skirts since I am a little shorter. But I love them on other women! I like the A line choice best. Great picks! Susan

    • Thanks Susan. I feel that you can never go wrong with leopard. 😉

  • And you certainly look pretty in skirts! I love the varying lengths featured in today’s post! I feel pretty in skirts as well, and that didn’t happen until I was in college 🙂

    • Thank you. You are so sweet!

  • I’m mostly a pencil skirt kind of person, so I really love your outfit today!

    • Thank you Ashley. I couldn’t resist the leopard pencil skirt. 🙂

  • Smokin’ hot in that pencil skirt mama!!!!

    • Thanks my friend. 🙂

  • I so agree that pencil skirts can be both feminine and empowering. This look exudes both. Love that you chose a leopard skirt because it definitely adds flair to this professional look. Enjoy the rest of the week! ~Cynthia

  • I love the look & silhouette of a pencil skirt, but I can’t move in those things. For myself I prefer a full or skater skirt.

Thanks for hosting the link up 🙂

    Alex – Funky Jungle

    • Totally understandable Alex. Being able to move around in a skirt is necessary.

  • This outfit is gorgeous! I love the way that red top looks with that cute leopard skirt! So pretty!

    • Thanks Julie! Have a beautiful week.

  • Mary

You look so pretty in that outfit! I love any and all skirts…I’d love to see a floaty midi or a-line skirt in the Spring challenge! I love that floral maxi, too!

  • Amy Ann

Nothing beats a good skirt! Loving your leopard.

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.

  • An outfit like this is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of feminine beauty. You reach that summit regularly. Oh, to breathe the air up there!

    • Thank you. Where are you located?

  • I totally agree that a pencil skirt, blouse and heels makes you feel feminine and sophisticated! These are my go to pieces for work. You look fabulous Alison!

    • Yes, yes, and yes!! 🙂 Thank you Aracely.

  • I love wearing skirts, but most the time I am limited to the warmer weather months in Ohio. Love that red midi skirt! That is my kind of outfit!

    • How warm does it get in Ohio, Vanessa?

  • Love your outfit today! I don’t get to dress up as often as I’d like, but my go to is a pencil skirt and blouse also. You look beautiful!

    • Thank you so much Lana. You are beautiful!

  • Since I became a SAHM, I rarely wear skirts and I miss wearing them (and heels, too!). I think I will have to try and get them back into my wardrobe somehow…

    • They are perfect for date nights C.K.. 😉

  • I love pencil skirts too!! You look gorgeous. LOVE the horse in the picture with your “corporate” look. LOL!!

    • Isn’t the timing perfect for the shot? I love it! Have a great week Jo-Lynne.

  • I love a good pencil skirt too! When I was a teacher, I also rocked pencil skirts all the time. Loved them and still do. xx, Conni

    • LOVE pencil skirts!! 🙂

  • Although I’m kind of obsessed with the midi-skirt right now, my favorite length has to be the pencil skirt. It’s just so classic and flattering.

I love red and leopard print together. I think I got the style idea from you actually!

    • Really? I’m so glad! 🙂 🙂

  • Thank you for sharing the different ideas of outfits with skirts. I want to wear skirts more often. These are some good suggestions to get me going with creating my own outfits.
