I Feel Pretty | Simplified

October was quite possibly the busiest month of my life.  There really is such a thing as having too much good going on.  Don’t get me wrong, I feel incredibly blessed during this season of my life.  But wow, do I ever need to find some balance before the holidays hit!

Simplification has been the name of the game lately.  The only way to do a lot WELL is to keep it simple sweetie.  Especially when it comes to getting dressed.

This outfit is the perfect example.  Start with two neutrals – black and beige – and repeat.

Simple, right?

My new polka dot infinity scarf from Leslia NYC was the inspiration for this outfit.  I picked it out first, then repeated the colors to build around it.

LESLIA NYC

Black and Beige Scarf Today’s star of the show outfit piece is my new black and cream polka dot infinity scarf courtesy of Leslia NYC.  I love the generous size and microfiber feel of this outfit maker.

Founder and head designer Leslia Rodriguez is an NYC mom that grew up in Puerto Rico.  She spent many years working in the fashion industry before branching out and starting a line of her own.  While vacationing in St. Barth’s in 2011, Leslia was inspired to create a multifunctional collection of scarves, kaftans, headscarves and more that can be worn year-round.  She will soon be debuting her new line of plus-sized kaftans.

  • I am still learning the art of simplistic dressing. I love pairing black with tan and I am enjoying mixing sweaters with plaid tops this fall. I have been searching for a good pair of denim lately. Do you recommend the Mossimo ones you are wearing. They look great! And I love the scarf and bag! Wallis has so many fabulous, classic items! Blessings! I linked up today with some fun patterned leggings! Susan

Hi Susan – I’ve had these Mossimo jeans for three years and they’re still my favorite pair of black jeans. They’re fading a bit now due to their age but holding up well otherwise! I would definitely recommend them. 🙂

  • Perfect outfit for so many things! I’m usually rushing and the last one in the family to get dressed so I do a lot of neutral clothes and boots. Patterned scarves in small prints are an easy way for me to “do something” with my look. I like this cardigan, too.

  • I’m the worst at simplifying. It usually comes off as looking lazy, i.e. jeans and a t-shirt. We don’t go out a lot and I don’t like getting “dressed” to run errands so I need to find a simple, easy look that doesn’t make me feel overdressed. It’s ridiculous, I know.

  • Love this ensemble Alison! Perfect combination of stripes & polka dots, and black & beige. I think I am in love with that wrap!
