A Summer Recap and an Irresistible Dress

I don’t know about you but this is the time of year that I get stuck in my worst wardrobe rut.  Honestly some days I fantasize about piling all of my shorts and tank tops in the fire pit and lighting them up!

Of course the far less drastic and more practical thing would be to box it all up and put it in the storage closet until next year. Unfortunately, the weather isn’t quite having that yet.

Before I whisk summer away as a mere hot memory, I thought it would be fun to recap what went on in the Lumbatis family during summer 2015.

If this summer had a theme for us, it would be travel.  We took five trips total, three of which were road trips.  We drove to Kentucky for Breyerfest for our 11 year old’s birthday, moved our son into LSU and went to our niece’s wedding in New Orleans and took a quick weekend getaway for our anniversary.  We also spent a week in Mexico for our family vacation in June and I took a business trip to Australia at the end of July.  All of that traveling was fun, but also an exhausting whirlwind.  I’m looking forward to staying home for awhile, keeping my butt out of a car seat and getting back into a routine.

Here’s a quick Instagram look back at our summer.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done an outfit post but the minute I bought this dress, I knew I had to.  It was for my business meetings in Australia but it’s proven to be a great transition piece that works for so much more.  Even though I went with a dressier styling of it for this post, it works equally well with gold sandals for a more laid back look.
