Pretty Fix: The August List

Pretty Fix: The August List

The Pretty Fix is a monthly feature at Get Your Pretty On that features my top five picks for the month that you can shop for on your own to stay in style at a price you’ll love. The idea for it was born out of frustration that some of you have had with other monthly box services that you feel “miss the mark” or are too pricey.

Each month, the Pretty Fix includes five affordable items that I personally recommend to stay on trend.  Transitional style is the buzz word this month.  For this month’s pretty fix, I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to transition into fall.

Want to know the best part? You can buy everything in the monthly fix for under $100!

Consider me your budget-minded personal shopper. Here’s your August Pretty Fix.

Three Easy Wedding Looks to Love

Three Easy Wedding Looks to Love

We’ve got a wedding in the family very soon and I couldn’t be more excited!

My niece is getting married in New Orleans at the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter.  In traditional New Orleans fashion, the wedding party and guests will be led by a “second line” brass band parade through the streets on the way to the reception.  It’s going to be amazing!

Did I mention that I’m a wee bit excited?

With my niece Lauren, the bride to be.

Needless to say, I’ve been in a dress ordering frenzy.  Since I haven’t had much time to shop in stores, I’ve just had them delivered to my door.  After four failed attempts, I think I’ve finally found “the one”.

In the process of deciding on what to wear, I came up with three easy looks that you can copy and wear to your next wedding.

Classic

A lace sheath dress gets updated with a fun pop of color.  Finish it out with neutral accessories for a classic look that’s still fresh and modern.

This easy, breezy look is perfect for a casual afternoon or beach wedding.

Formal

Formal doesn’t have to be boring.  As a matter of fact it can be downright glamorous in this one-shoulder stunner with gold accessories.

As for what I’m wearing?  Well, you’ll have to wait and see.  I’ll be posting pics on Instagram from the wedding.  🙂

Easy Summer Outfit: Kimono, Flowy Top and Shorts

Easy Summer Outfit: Kimono, Flowy Top and Shorts

It’s the last week of the summer challenge and the girls are having so much fun! I’m sad that it’s coming to an end.

Today, I’m sharing an item that was on our Pretty Fix – July List earlier this week. This is an easy summer outfit to put together with a printed kimono. I have a little confession to make…it took me a little bit to get used to this and I love it! The kimono is lightweight and easy to layer over your flowy top. Don’t underestimate what it can do to your wardrobe with a pair of heels for date nights! Here’s a preview from the Summer Challenge.

And here are a few of our challengers interpretations.
