October was quite possibly the busiest month of my life. There really is such a thing as having too much good going on. Don’t get me wrong, I feel incredibly blessed during this season of my life. But wow, do I ever need to find some balance before the holidays hit!
Simplification has been the name of the game lately. The only way to do a lot WELL is to keep it simple sweetie. Especially when it comes to getting dressed.
This outfit is the perfect example. Start with two neutrals – black and beige – and repeat.
Simple, right?
My new polka dot infinity scarf from Leslia NYC was the inspiration for this outfit. I picked it out first, then repeated the colors to build around it.

LESLIA NYC
Today’s star of the show outfit piece is my new black and cream polka dot infinity scarf courtesy of Leslia NYC. I love the generous size and microfiber feel of this outfit maker.
Founder and head designer Leslia Rodriguez is an NYC mom that grew up in Puerto Rico. She spent many years working in the fashion industry before branching out and starting a line of her own. While vacationing in St. Barth’s in 2011, Leslia was inspired to create a multifunctional collection of scarves, kaftans, headscarves and more that can be worn year-round. She will soon be debuting her new line of plus-sized kaftans.
Check out Leslia’s collection at LesliaNYC.com. Her beautiful multifunctional pieces make getting dressed even easier.

Sometimes, my life just plain stinks.
Don’t get me wrong. I have a really great life.
There are just a lot of moments in it that smell bad.
With three kids in demanding sports, my days are filled with a variety of odors. From horse barns to gym bags to smelly locker rooms, it can be an olfactory overload!
How does a mom manage to escape the odors and find some freshness in her day? Here’s a little video to show you what I do.My everyday escape involves the new luxurious Bath and Body collection by Sonia Kashuk available exclusively at Target. These products are a little bit of an indulgence that busy moms can easily pick up while out shopping. I love that I can swing by the beauty section while on one of my (almost) daily trips to Target. No need to make a trip to the mall to get bath and body products at a specialty store.
There are 24 indulgent products in the line with four exquisite fragrances including the delicate Pink Innocencia, sensual Purple Seductia, uplifting Yellow Alluriana and voluptuous Red Promisia. These scents come in an eau de toilette, creme body wash, shower gel, body butter, hand cream and body lotion. Select scents are also available in a body polish and body oil.
I received the Red Promisia eau de toilette, Purple Seductia hand creme and Yellow Alluriana body butter to try out. The texture, fragrances and packaging of these products are every bit of what you’d expect from a high-end brand. The Red Promisia eau de toilette’s combination of sandalwood, jasmine and vanilla is the perfect everyday fragrance. I love spritzing it on right before I head out for the day. The hand creme in Purple Seductia has a richer fragrance of pomegranate, rose and patchouli. It’s ultra-moisturizing and fast absorbing. My favorite product in this trio is the Yellow Alluriana body butter. The uplifting scent of grapefruit, verbena and musk is energizing. The body butter melts into your skin and leaves it moisturized all day without a smidge of greasiness. All three of the products leave a long lasting yet not overpowering scent that lingers throughout the day.

I’ve been stashing the hand cream in my purse. When I walk out of the stable, I can instantly feel fresh by wrapping my hands in the luxurious scent of the Purple Seductia hand cream. The aromatherapy fills up my car and suddenly I’ve found a little good smelling “me time” in the midst of my busy, stinky schedule.
Couldn’t you use an everyday escape too?

What could possibly be more versatile than a great shift dress? It can be dressed up or down with ease and made perfectly appropriate for any season.
Simple Southern Style recently sent me not one, but two shift dresses to style from their collection.
The first is this gorgeous green Holiday Shift. For a fall daytime look, I paired it simply with a leopard scarf and cognac riding boots.

For my second look, heels, a statement making necklace and my favorite ruffled wrap make it holiday party appropriate.

Oct 28, 2013
My daughter Ava is a reluctant blog model. She’d much rather be in her work boots mucking out stalls at the horse barn. As a compromise, we agreed to let her model her new FabKids outfit at the stables. Mom wins and so does Ava.
She received this adorable necklace top, leopard pants and headband in this month’s outfit. Visit FabKids.com to learn how to get $20 off your first outfit.
