This trend is quite possibly my favorite of the bunch. Pattern mixing in outfits was big for spring and summer. Mixing prints on a single item is the next big thing for fall and winter. A scarf is an easy and fool proof way to wear the trend.

Leggings as pants? Not a typical style choice I would make in my everyday life. But on vacation? Why not.
This is one of the outfits I wore on our recent trip to Miraval Resort. When I travel, I feel more daring and try out trends that I normally might not feel comfortable wearing in real life, say to Target. It’s the anonymity of it that allows for the risk taking.

I have to admit, I probably wouldn’t have been as brave if not for these Spanx leggings. What? Spanx makes leggings? Why yes. Yes, they do. They’re a little bit of an investment but worth every single penny. Trust me, they’re awesome. I will be wearing them all fall and winter.

Speaking of stuff I love, I’m obsessed with this Kendra Scott ‘Rayne‘ necklace. There’s nothing it doesn’t go with. I mean really, how perfect is it? It makes everything special – from a basic tee to a dressy blouse.

Along with traditional jewel tones and deep, saturated hues, a surprising color trend is making it’s debut this fall – pastels.
The good news is that this trend can extend the wear of some of your favorite pastel pieces from spring and summer. Think twice before you store those pink, lavender, mint and yellow cardigans, blouses, blazers and jeans.
I decided to give it a try with my favorite pair of mint jeans. Adding a navy jacket and leopard heels helped to ground the look and make it more fall-like.

Get Your Pretty On turned one yesterday…and what a year it’s been.
It all started with that first outfit photo where I was so proud of myself for actually getting dressed to have lunch with my daughter at her school. This blog has come a long way baby!
And so have I.
It’s been a daily journey of learning, discovery, friendship, creativity, challenges and growth. I didn’t start it with any goals in mind, it was just a fun diversion and a way to hold myself accountable for getting out of my yoga pants every day. I never could’ve dreamed it would grow into what it is today.
I have all of you to thank for this. Never did I think that anyone would actually be interested in what I was wearing, or my beauty routines, let alone my personal stories and family life. You’ve shown a genuine interest and spurred me on in big and small ways on those days where I wasn’t sure that I could keep going.
