Pretty Pastel Jeans for Spring

Pretty Pastel Jeans for Spring

One of the biggest trends for spring 2020 has been pastel jeans but when I took inventory of my denim I realized that I had plenty of blue, black and white but not a single pair of colorful. Since I’ve been spending more and more time in my jeans lately I decided one way to make them more fun would be to add some color to the collection.

In my search I found these pretty sage colored sculpting jeans at Ann Taylor. I took a chance and ordered them online which is something I NEVER do with jeans. Thankfully they fit perfectly and the length is just right too. I loved the frayed hem detail on these jeans. They can be dressed up or down really easily too. On my Zoom video calls this week, I was able to pair them up with this crisp white popover blouse and acrylic statement necklace. White leather embossed block heels sandals give it that extra something special!

For a more laid back dressed down look, I paired up the sage jeans in a monochromatic look with this cute little side button cropped sweater. It’s the perfect transition piece for spring! White leather loafers give it a preppy chic vibe.

Two Ways to Wear – Lavender Jeans

Two Ways to Wear – Lavender Jeans

Nothing says spring like some pretty pastel jeans! This season I had a bit of rebuilding to do in my denim collection and realized that one major gap I needed to fill was my colored jeans. I had plenty of blue, black and white but not any other colors so I set out to find a few perfect pairs.

The first pair I added to the collection was this pair of tie waist lavender sculpting jeans. The color is so light and pretty that it almost acts as a neutral and can be paired up in so many different ways. It has major versatility! You can dress these jeans up with a crisp white blouse like this tie-back popover and add in a statement necklace and some white block heels to give it a little polish.

For my second look I went with a slightly more dressed down version by swapping the white blouse for this sleeveless top in monochromatic lavender. These embossed white leather tassel loafers give the outfit a laid back preppy vibe.

Navy and White Dresses with a Pop of Red

Navy and White Dresses with a Pop of Red

Happy belated Easter Pretties! To say it was an unusual Easter is a total understatement. I have to admit though, it will go down in history as one of my favorites. In these uncertain times, there’s something really comforting about having my whole family here under one roof. We made the most of our day with a morning family workout, followed by getting dressed up properly for our online church service and topped it all off with a barbecue feast of epic proportions.

Last week, I posted this video sharing that I planned to dress up for Easter at home and asking you all to vote for your favorite dress from J. Crew Factory. Your hands down favorite was this pretty cowl neck polka dot frock. I gotta hand it to you, you definitely picked a winner! I love the fit of this dress and it definitely made Easter at home feel more special. These low heel red block sandals were comfortable for wearing around the house and they added the perfect pop of red.

A close runner up was this navy and white gingham shirt dress. Nothing says spring quite like gingham! I love the ease of a shirt dress and how it can be easily dressed up or down. This one would look adorable paired up with some fresh white sneakers.

An Office to Valentine’s Date Night Look

An Office to Valentine’s Date Night Look

February brings with it the unique opportunity to style outfits that easily transition from the office right into date night. I’m a BIG believer in working with what you already have in your closet and love that every piece in this outfit from Ann Taylor can easily do double duty. I love Ann Taylor for their high quality classic, yet totally on-trend pieces. They are one of my go-to’s when it’s time to go shopping for a business trip or speaking gig that requires me to get a little dressier than my default jeans and blouse.

And what says Valentine’s Day more than red? It was LOVE at first sight when I spied these belted ankle pants in zesty red. Naturally, they were begging me (no, seriously!) to pair them up with this cute striped top. OK, maybe I made that part up but red and stripes are near perfection, but only near. The cherry on top, on in this case, on bottom is hair calf leopard loafer flats. Pattern mixing perfection!

Mother Daughter Winter Style with J. Crew Factory

Mother Daughter Winter Style with J. Crew Factory

One of the things that I love most about being a blogger is the times that I’ve gotten to work with my family members on blog posts. Granted some of them have to be dragged kicking and screaming (mainly my husband, Craig. He’d rather stay behind the camera) but for the most part, they’re usually more than happy to play along.

With Aubrey home from college for winter break, we had the perfect opportunity to do a little shopping and styling together at J. Crew Factory. Being totally honest, with an over 20-year age difference, it’s hard for us to find stores that we can both shop at. J. Crew Factory is one of those rare finds where you can walk out with the whole family happy! We were both able to put together cute, age appropriate and stylish outfits plus find awesome winter coats, shoes and even accessories to finish them out!

I went with one of my classic favorites – a crewneck beige sweater layered over a chambray button down paired up with high rise black skinny jeans and of course. leopard flats.

Aubrey paired a puff sleeved black turtleneck sweater with gray high rise skinny jeans and a the cutest pair of leopard print booties!

To bundle up for cooler temps, I added a wool City Coat while Aubrey opted for a black puffer coat with a tie waist.

I finished off my look with a fun pair of tortoise flag drop earrings and a layered necklace.

Aubrey added an edgy tortoise arrow pendant necklace to her black turtleneck.
