December is one of my favorite months for many reasons, but mostly because of the traditions we have around Christmas. One of those traditions is, of course, shopping for gifts. My husband Craig and I make an event out of it every year. He usually takes a few Fridays off for us to finish up shopping for anything we haven’t gotten online. We start early in the morning, have a nice, relaxing lunch while reviewing our list and finish up in the afternoon before we have to pick the girls up from school.
On those days, I like to wear outfits that are comfortable and put together, but feel a little festive and fun. This outfit fits the bill perfectly – comfy flats, festive plaid and just the right amount of sparkle.
It’s Your Turn: What does your ideal shopping outfit consist of? Tell me in the comments!

It’s the day of the week at GYPO where we celebrate what makes us feel pretty. Whether it’s a new outfit, hairstyle, or makeup, the I Feel Pretty link up is about anything and everything that makes your life prettier. Even if you’re not a blogger, you can still play along. Just tell us what made you feel pretty this week in the comments!
So I had this whole post put together for today that took days to work on, then at the last minute I had to cancel it because of a technical issue. Time for plan B!
Oh well, that’s just fine because now I get a chance to share some of the awesome outfits happening over in the Spring Style Me Challenge.
Some of the challengers did exact recreations of the inspiration outfit but a lot came up with some really creative pairings. That’s what I love about this group – everyone is showing their style by making the challenge outfits their own.
Here’s how two of the challengers (ironically both named Lisa) perfectly paired it up.
If you want to see how the rest of the challengers styled it, then I guess you’re going to have to come join us! There’s still time to sign up. Go HERE to sign up and get immediate access to your shopping list and the outfits. No worries if you don’t have all of the pieces, we have plenty of improvisers in the group. You’ll be in good company.
I FEEL PRETTY

Last week I wasn’t able to bring you any new outfit pics. Mostly because I spent the week laying around in my PJ’s and hacking up a lung after being diagnosed with bronchitis.
When I came home from the doctor and shared my diagnosis with my family, they felt sorry for me laughed and in their best Sweet Brown impersonations said “I got bronchitis! Ain’t nobody got time for that!”
If you’re not yet aware of the origin of their mockery, then check out this video of YouTube sensation Sweet Brown.
Trust me, you will sing that all day.
Bronchitis aside, I’ve been suffering from another, more pleasant affliction…spring fever! That one was a little easier to cure thanks to some unseasonably warm days last week. A mani/pedi and my new open toed flats did the trick quite nicely.
I stopped by Old Navy last week to find a new pair of boyfriend jeans like my bloggy friend Carly of Thirty Something Fashion posted about HERE. Unfortunately my Old Navy didn’t have them in my size but I did find this green and white gingham shirt, so it was still a successful trip.
I was so excited that it warmed up enough for me to finally wear my super cute new leopard flats from Sole Society. These shoes are incredibly comfortable and well made. I’m a huge fan of this brand and will definitely be buying more.
Like these.
Or these.
And definitely these.
It’s Your Turn: Are you suffering from spring fever too? What are some of your favorite pick me ups on winter days?

I’ve been participating in the GYPO Style Challenges for three years now and I’ve loved it. I’ve always loved clothes, but I didn’t know how to put outfits together. My closet is now full of mix-and-match outfits, I have learned how to dress myself, and there is no more stress in figuring out to wear. The private FB group is full of wonderful ladies that build each other up. It’s so fun and is seriously the best group on FB.

Get Your Pretty On has changed my life, seriously. I have always chased what is trendy but found from season to season, that things go out of style and I was wasting money on items that I would only end up wearing a few times. GYPO has enabled me to simplify my closet, helps me make smarter purchasing decisions, and I feel so put together and confident using the outfit formulas that are provided. This program is a GAME CHANGER. I've been following GYPO for a few years now and my only regret is not jumping on board sooner.

Great community of ladies, helping each other look stylish, without breaking the bank, and using much of what you already own.

GYPO challenges have been one of the best things I have done! It had taught me so much more than just creating a closet of clothes that I love but also to have confidence in myself, how to pick and choose colors that work for me instead of against, and had given a wonderful community of Pretties who are so special.
