Sweatshirt Love

Dressed up, embellished sweatshirts have been on the scene for a little while.  This fall, they’re everywhere and I can see why.  It’s easy to love a trend that takes your favorite comfy, casual piece and makes it perfectly appropriate for just about anything.

Who knew a sweatshirt could be so chic?

The Next Thing You Need | Olive Green

The Next Thing You Need | Olive Green

Olive, army green, whatever you want to call it – it’s a color that’s definitely having a moment this fall.

I recently discovered just how much I love it paired up with black.

If you haven’t jumped on board the olive train yet, now’s the perfect time.  There are plenty of affordable pieces to update your wardrobe in stores now.  Here are six of my faves.

Olive Wardrobe Pieces

1.  Cargo Skinnies

The studded details and cargo pockets on these skinny pants make them extra special.  Wear them cuffed with ankle boots or tucked into your favorite riding boot.

A pretty, feminine camo blouse adds flair to basic black jeans and pencil skirts.

5.  Military Jacket

Every girl needs a military jacket in her collection.  It’s fall’s perfect finishing layer.  Pair it with black and white stripes.

I Feel Pretty | in Floral + Stripes

I Feel Pretty | in Floral + Stripes

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been featuring pieces from my Wallis weekend getaway wardrobe.  This wardrobe was part of the Miraval and Wallis mom’s weekend getaway prize.  Although my magical weekend at Miraval resort is over, I’ll be styling my Wallis wardrobe staples throughout the fall.

Today’s outfit features three of my favorite pieces from the collection – this sheer floral blouse, a lightweight striped open front cardigan and my favorite – the black and stone Juno bag.

Borrowed from the Boys

Borrowed from the Boys

About a month ago, I fell in love with this outfit found on Pinterest after searching for ways to pair up my oxfords.   I couldn’t wait for the weather to cool down to recreate it.  It’s the perfect combo of preppy casual with menswear details – a navy blazer, boyfriend jeans and oxfords.

The Next Thing You Need | The Statement Scarf

The Next Thing You Need | The Statement Scarf

Want to give your fall fashion an instant boost?  Just add a statement making scarf in one of the season’s hottest trends.

These aren’t your mama’s scarves.  Fall’s outfit makers feature mixed patterns, color blocking, tribal patterns, camo and more.  It’s never been easier to look on trend.

FIVE SCARF TRENDS FOR FALL

1.  Mixed Patterns

This trend is quite possibly my favorite of the bunch.  Pattern mixing in outfits was big for spring and summer.  Mixing prints on a single item is the next big thing for fall and winter.  A scarf is an easy and fool proof way to wear the trend.

This scarf is 40% off today, along with everything else at Loft.  Now’s the perfect time to stock up for fall.!

2.  Leopard

If you don’t have a leopard print scarf yet, never fear.  I’ve found the perfect one for you!

[Leopard Infinity Scarf]

3.  Camo

If you like the camo trend but have been afraid to try it out, a scarf is a good way to ease into it.

[Neon Print Camo Scarf]

[Pink Print Camo Scarf]

4.  Tribal Print

Tribal print looks awesome paired up with denim.  Toss this on with a chambray layered under a sweater for an instant update.

[Southwestern Fringe]

5.  Colorful Cozy Knits

A colorful, cozy knit scarf is the perfect finishing touch for a fall hayride.
