Work Your Work Wear: Three Trends to Try this Fall

When I worked in corporate America, one of my biggest challenges was keeping my work wear from getting boring. Even though I had outfit formulas that made getting dressed easier, I still struggled with ways to keep my outfits feeling fresh and on trend.

I eventually discovered the key is to adapt the season’s latest trends in subtle ways that give your basics new life while still feeling professional.

Today I’m sharing three outfits from the Fall 2017 Work Wear Capsule to show you how to incorporate three of my favorite fall work wear trends into your office attire.

Psst…if you like these outfits, then check out the Fall 2017 Work Wear Capsule!  You’ll get shopping links to all of the pieces below plus 18 days of mix and match outfit ideas to make getting dressed for work the easiest thing you’ll do all day.

1. Moto Jacket

Ditch your traditional blazer for a trendy, edgy moto jacket.  It’s totally office appropriate when paired with a blouse and skirt or dress pants.

2. Velvet

Velvet is the fabric of fall 2017.  Add a touch of this luxe fabric to your office attire with a pair of ballet flats, loafers or heels.

3. Blush

Soft, muted colors are the “of the moment” color palette for fall 2017. Swap out your jewel toned blouse for a pretty soft pink, pair it up with gray ankle pants and velvet flats.

  • Tamara Rook

Hi, if we buy the Fall Work Wear capsule (which I love!) do we also get access to your Facebook group? I can’t do your other Fall challenge this year since I am back to work in Corporate America. :/

    • Hi Tamara. Unfortunately there is not a Facebook group for the work wear capsule. Do you follow the Get Your Pretty On Facebook page?

  • I always try to incorporate color trends into my looks bc it makes it so easy! Love the idea of wearing blush to the office

  • Missy Criss

I love the dress from H&M – but so sheer…. do you wear a slip?

    • Thanks Missy. I don’t wear a slip with that dress. Although it’s a bit sheer, it’s not see through. A slip could definitely be worn under it for comfort level though.

  • Hello! I love these ideas specially moto jacket outfit replacing traditional blazer. I highly recommend this one. I always try to merge trending fashion into my looks.
