It’s crazy to think about but 27 years ago today I met my husband Craig on a blind date. His best friend and my neighbor invited us on a double date with them. The funny thing is neither of us wanted to go but we reluctantly agreed. The date went well in my book and we even had a quick kiss at the end of the night. So it came as a total surprise that he didn’t call me for two weeks after! Years later I found out that he thought I wasn’t into him so he didn’t want to face rejection. Little did he know I was just painfully shy and it had nothing to do with him.
Fast forward and this year we’re celebrating our 20 year anniversary. Obviously his courage to make that call ended up paying off for both of us! Since it’s a milestone year we decided that a bucket list trip would be in order. Next month we’ll be heading to Greece to see one of the places I’ve always dreamt of, Santorini.
When I spied this brilliant blue romper at White House Black Market I just knew it had to make the trip with me. I mean the color is called “Aegean Sea” – it’s like they created it just for me!
Don’t you think the coin accessories give it that perfect finishing touch? I love how the coin hoop earrings and layered coin necklace pop against the bright blue.
I absolutely love the flutter sleeve details on this romper. The fabric is really comfortable and it’s fully lined. Just add gold sandals for an instant outfit!

Over the past few years I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’m not really a dress person. Dresses are usually reserved for special occassions and even then, if I can get away with a dressed up pair of jeans and heels you better believe that’s what I’m going with!
There is one HUGE exception to this rule and that’s when we travel. I almost always have at least two dresses packed for every trip. Mainly though it’s because I’m a total minimalist when it comes to vacation packing and dresses are so versatile and take up less room than a full outfit.
We have two vacations planned this summer – one with our kids to Mexico and the other to Greece to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Both of these destinations will call for plenty of dresses in the suitcase! I’ve gotten a jump start on my collection early with these two dresses from Banana Republic.
You may have already seen this dress floating around on my social media a few weeks ago. This is the exact look that I wore for my great niece’s/goddaughter’s baptism. I love how easily this polka dot maxi dress can be dressed up or down – it would work equally as well with a pair of flat gold sandals for a more casual affair.
Every summer trip calls for a pretty printed sundress packed along for the fun! This one is dressy enough for a summer wedding. Just add neutral accessories and you’re good to go!

If you’ve strolled into any store lately, surely you’ve seen at least one pair of paper bag waist shorts or pants. They’re one of the big trends for summer 2019 and just so happen to be one of the most wearable too. The easiest way to pair them up is with a slim fitting tee or tank.
This outfit is made up of a few different trend items from Nordstrom that make it easy to be stylish and stay cool this summer. Rattan earrings, a circular straw purse and white sandals – all in neutrals round out this head to toe trend look. Just add a classic closet staple basic with the white tank and you’re good to go!
Hey pretties! I got some new workout clothes recently that I really wanted to feature on the blog but a few problems with this. First off, I go to Orangetheory to work out and I couldn’t do a photo shoot there. Plus, after I’m done I’m the sweatiest mess you’ve ever laid eyes upon. Second, I also do yoga in my living room but the light in there isn’t exactly conducive to getting good photos.
So, here I am, posing in the park. It may look like there’s no one there watching but that’s the magic of good camera angles. There were actually several people fishing, kids riding bikes on the sidewalks and two dozen or so people at the community pool about a hundred yards to the left. Oh the lengths a blogger will go to for the perfect shot! Craig was laughing the whole time he was shooting these but I said “honey, it’s just stuff bloggers do!”
Anywho, let’s talk about the outfit because that’s why you’re here! All of my workout clothes follow the same simple outfit formula: Sports Bra + Tank Top + Yoga Pants and this one is no exception. i have a lot of solid black yoga pants so I loved the bold white logo on the leg of this pair.
Craig got me this new pair of running shoes from Nordstrom for Mother’s Day. I say they’re new, which technically they are, but these are actually the third pair of this same style that I’ve had. These are honestly the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned!
This white Nike Dri-FIT tank is made with moisture wicking fabric. I have these tanks in multiple colors and love how lightweight they are.
This black sports bra is one of my new favorites! It has the cutest cut out details and also gives really full coverage and good support. The high neckline is very stylish!

There are certain color combos I’ve stumbled across over the past few years that have become all out obsessions. One of those has been olive green with yellow. These are two colors that I never really wore much in my entire life – that is until I wore them together and totally fell hard. It’s rare that I wear either color without the other (although gray with yellow and olive is another fave!)
When I spied this olive green shirtdress I knew it had to be paired up with yellow. I already found this super cute yellow cross body bag at Walmart.com a few weeks ago so I knew exactly how I’d accessorize this dress. I ordered this dress online and when it arrived out of the package I honestly wasn’t all that impressed. Then I put it on and Craig stopped in his tracks and said “I REALLY love that dress on you!” It’s not a style I’d usually choose for myself but I fell in love with it too.
For sizing reference, I’m wearing this dress in a size small. It’s generously cut and very thin. You may want to wear a body shaper under it.
Do you struggle to put outfits together? Are you stuck in a yoga pants rut? Not sure if you can make the latest trends work for you? You’re in the right place!

I’ve been participating in the GYPO Style Challenges for three years now and I’ve loved it. I’ve always loved clothes, but I didn’t know how to put outfits together. My closet is now full of mix-and-match outfits, I have learned how to dress myself, and there is no more stress in figuring out to wear. The private FB group is full of wonderful ladies that build each other up. It’s so fun and is seriously the best group on FB.

Get Your Pretty On has changed my life, seriously. I have always chased what is trendy but found from season to season, that things go out of style and I was wasting money on items that I would only end up wearing a few times. GYPO has enabled me to simplify my closet, helps me make smarter purchasing decisions, and I feel so put together and confident using the outfit formulas that are provided. This program is a GAME CHANGER. I've been following GYPO for a few years now and my only regret is not jumping on board sooner.

Great community of ladies, helping each other look stylish, without breaking the bank, and using much of what you already own.

GYPO challenges have been one of the best things I have done! It had taught me so much more than just creating a closet of clothes that I love but also to have confidence in myself, how to pick and choose colors that work for me instead of against, and had given a wonderful community of Pretties who are so special.
