A New Haircut, Activewear Essentials and an Outfit

Today’s post is full of a whole lot of randomness, so bear with me!  Last Friday, I made the decision to get five inches of my hair chopped off.  This is the shortest it’s been since I was pregnant with my daughter Aubrey – 18 years ago. (For a funny story about that haircut, watch the first 2 minutes of my Facebook video below.) Honestly it was a little bit of a shock to me, I wanted a change but maybe not quite this short.  It’s growing on me though!

Here’s the new haircut in case you didn’t see it on social media yet.

And yes, as soon as I learn how to style this bad boy on my own (if I ever master it!), I’ll do a tutorial video for the blog!

Here’s a Facebook video I did last Friday right after I got it done, you can see the back and sides of the cut a little better in it.  I’m also sharing my five workout essentials and how to build your own activewear capsule wardrobe by mixing and matching them.

Products Mentioned in Video:

1. Sports Bra:  Both Ways Bra

2. Yoga Pants:

3. Workout Tanks:  Cool Racerback

4. Long Sleeved Tees:  Alexa Tee/Mallow Tee

5. Running Shoes:  Nike Airmax Tailwind 8

Click the image below for more info on the 2017 Activewear Capsule and how you can get your shopping list and outfits for just $19.

And finally, a few of you asked about the outfit I was wearing in the video so here’s a full length shot of it.  Obviously I just can’t get enough of my winter white cords!  The navy sweater is actually a mixed media tunic, the back of it is sheer fabric.  This exact tunic is sold out but click here for a similar one for under $20.

Here are the accessories I paired up with this outfit, all from Stella and Dot’s spring collection.  One of the biggest perks of being a stylist is getting my discount on their accessories and sampling them at 50% off!  The neutrals in this necklace go with just about everything.  This cross body bag is my first piece from their Covet collection and I’m in love!  It’s buttery soft and so well made.

Your haircut looks amazing!!! I felt the same way right after my wedding…I went a littler shorter than I intended and I was super shocked at first but then grew to love it 🙂 Loving your outfit and all of the accessories – Stella & Dot has so many great pieces 🙂 Thanks for hosting!

Love your new cut! I just cute about 5 inches off my hair too, it’s such a huge change, although mine is still pretty long. I wanted to cut short my my hubby and kids all said long, and yelled NO when I asked, lol. Love those yoga pants with the mesh cutouts, so cute. Wish I could wear pants while working out. They have such cute stuff!

Love your new hair – it looks amazing on you. I always find I can never style it as well as my hairdresser but I’m often game to give it a try. All in the name of staying current 🙂

Love the hair but that bag is pure heaven, I have a black leather unlined tote from stella, is the cross body the same feel? Also how many pockets does it have?

First of all, your hair is ADORABLE! And secondly, I almost thought you had some Trades of Hope pieces on – they are very similar to what we have! And they are on-trend, comparable, and even less expensive then the products featured here! Ever since my friend shared your site with me and I’ve been reading your posts, I’ve thought you would LOVE our products – and the mission behind them.
