Daily Style Diary | Entry One

Daily Style Diary | Entry One

You guys really know how to make a girl’s day, week, month.  Seriously.

The results of the reader survey are in.  And wow, I’m just completely blown away!  Thank you for being so open, so sweet, so honest.  I took the weekend to compile and analyze the feedback and will be reporting it in Wednesday’s post.

Until then…

One of the key pieces of feedback you gave me was that you want to see more outfits and more casual ones at that.  As a mom, I understand that you’re not wearing heels, carrying clutches or dressing up on a daily basis and neither am I.  I want my blog to be about style inspiration, not aspiration.  I hear you loud and clear so I’m going to start showing you what I’m really wearing on a daily basis.  Because my hubby is my photographer and he works full-time during the week, the selfie in the mirror is the only way to do this, so please forgive the quality.  We’ll still be doing our regular outfit photo shoots too.

If you’re following me on Instagram, the outfits will appear over there first before getting compiled into a diary entry for the blog.  I won’t be posting pics every single day but if there’s an outfit that I put together that I think you might like, I will be sure to post it.

Here are this past week’s entries in my Daily Style Diary.

Day One

I had a few questions on Instagram and in the comments section about the jeans in this photo.  The brand is Paige and they’re one of my favorite fitting pairs of jeans.  The exact pair that I’m wearing is HERE.

Day Four

Day Five

Day Seven

Mom-Outfit-Yoga-PantsAs you can see, I follow an outfit formula most of the time – skinny jeans + boots + a sweater + a few simple accessories.   I had to include the obligatory yoga pants picture because I actually went to yoga that day.  Don’t worry, I got dressed in real clothes later.  🙂

Summer Style | Better Together

Summer Style | Better Together

Hot dogs and ketchup, iced tea and porch swings, bare feet and green grass.

Some things in summer are just better together.

Like a fedora and floral shorts.

Do you want to know what else is better together?

Tide, Downy and Bounce.

Tide Downy Bounce

Since I started using all three products together, our family’s laundry is clean, soft and smells so fresh.  Tide is better at getting out stains and keeping our clothes their cleanest than any other detergent brand I’ve ever used.  Downy keeps everything feeling soft and comfortable against our skin.  Bounce makes our laundry smell outdoor fresh right out of the dryer and reduces static cling.

It’s a magical trio for laundry perfection!  Or at least my family thinks so.  🙂

This post is sponsored by P&G. With Tide®, Downy® and Bounce®, you can keep your summer fashions looking new up to 50% longer.* Text CLEAN to TARGET (827438) for mobile coupons.

Payday Pretty | In the Nude

Payday Pretty | In the Nude

Confession:  I’m kind of obsessed with nudes right now.

What I really mean is I’m kind of obsessed with the color nude.  It’s just so fresh and perfect for spring!

From pumps and nail polish to pencil skirts and blouses, this color is popping up with spring’s pretty pastels and brighter hues as the perfect complementary color.

And I’m totally on board with the trend.

For this week’s Payday Pretty inspiration, I’ve curated some of my favorite $50 and under picks to keep you in the nude.

Fact:  Nude heels make legs look miles long.

They also work with virtually everything.  Don’t have a pair yet?  Let’s fix that.

Nude nails are always in style.  Invest in a classic polish like this and save money by not visiting your manicurist!

[Dior Vernis Nude Nail Polish]

This nude pencil skirt gets a makeover for spring in of the moment lace.

A pretty peplum and fun polka dots create a French chic look with this blouse.

Dior creates the most beautiful classic nudes.  This lipstick has just the right amount of sheen.

I Feel Pretty | In Bloom

I Feel Pretty | In Bloom

Girls, I need to get my shop on!

This is the time of year that I start getting really bored with my wardrobe.  Toward the end of each season, I’ve pretty much paired up everything that’s in my closet in as many ways as possible.

This is an outfit that I pieced together for church last Sunday out of items that are all a few years old.  This shirt hasn’t seen the light of day in over a year!  I don’t wear florals very often, actually this may be the only floral I own.  I’m not sure why.  I have nothing against them and they are totally appropriate for this time of the year.

In case you missed it, I’m offering 50% off ad space in March.  All sponsors who take advantage of this special will also be eligible to participate in the March group giveaway.  Current sponsors can also take advantage of this offer!  My space is limited so it’s first come, first served.  This offer is only good until tomorrow, 2/28.  Sign up HERE.

It’s time for this week’s link party.  But first, let’s take a look at last week’s Pretty of the Week.

She’s Jessi of Haircut and General Attitude!

The lace details on her cardigan are gorgeous and I love her retro head band and ruby red lips.

And now on to this week’s fun!

I Feel Pretty | In Chambray

I Feel Pretty | In Chambray

There’s no doubt that one of my favorite pieces that I’ve upgraded my wardrobe with recently is my chambray shirt.  Actually I didn’t even buy it for myself.  My hubby got it for me for my birthday.  When I first saw it I thought, I’m NEVER going to wear that thing.  It wasn’t that I didn’t like it.  I just rarely wore button downs of any kind.  But as the Biebs would say, never say never…

And for good reason, check out how he rocks chambray with denim on denim.

First I paired it up with colored denim.

Then I got all crazy like Justin and wore it with denim on denim.

After that I layered it under a sweater.

Then I got super brave and wore it with leggings.

It has truly been a closet staple for fall and winter.

And now I’m looking at ways to keep pairing it up for spring and summer.

With mint jeans, a striped tank and floral flats.

Chambray with Mint Jeans

With some floral shorts and wedges. I lived in my floral shorts last summer and plan to get more this year.

Chambray with Floral Shorts

Over a maxi dress with metallic flip flops.

Even thrown over a bikini at the beach!

What’s that you say?  You don’t have a chambray shirt yet?  Well, girlfriend, we need to fix that!

Here are some options for every price point.

I’m starting something new this week.  Each week I’m going to feature a Pretty of the Week from the previous week’s link party.

Our very first Pretty of the Week is…

Amber of 3 Ladies and Their Gent!

How cute is she?  I just love her leopard heels, plum cords and perfect accessories.

And now on to this week’s fun!
