Have you heard of Nepali by TDM yet? Even if you haven’t, you may have already spotted their scarves on a few celebs like Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Gwen Stefani and Courteney Cox.

When Nepali contacted me to become a brand ambassador, I jumped at the chance. Not just because they’re popular among celebrities but because they’re about so much more.
Each piece is handmade by their community of Nepalese women artisans using eco-friendly processes. Nepali provides their craftswomen with above-market compensation, access to healthcare, and full scholarships for their children to attend school. They believe that economic freedom and education are tools of empowerment to help women break the cycle of poverty. How could you not love this company?
The scarf that I’m wearing today is the Bambi Abbie in Nectarine and Monaco Blue. It comes in 7 different color combos and is made of 100% lush bamboo.

Life has been moving at an uncomfortably hectic pace lately. So last Friday, I packed up the car and the kids and we drove to Austin for the weekend to meet up with my husband who is there on business.
It was so refreshing just to get away from all of the responsibilities, sports practices and household duties for a few days to recharge our batteries and enjoy some family time. We shopped, swam, toured the state capitol and ate loads of yummy food. Oh and took outfit pics downtown, of course. 🙂

Instead of a traditional Mothers’ Day gift guide, I thought it would be fun to enlist the help of a few of my friends. So, I asked five of my favorite fashionable mamas/bloggers to tell me their top items on their Mother’s Day wish lists. I hope you get as much inspiration as I did!
Sheaffer | Pinterest Told Me To
If you don’t know Sheaffer yet, you might live in a cave. Kidding! But her blog Pinterest Told Me To is wildly popular and one of my own personal favorite daily reads. She’s funny as heck and smart as a whip, all with a generous side of sass. Sheaffer and I met when we were both new to the blogging world. She’s an incredibly supportive person and I feel lucky to know her in real life!

Shay | Mix and Match Mama and Mix and Match Family
Shay and I came to know each other through Sheaffer (they’ve been good friends for years). She’s a beautiful person, inside and out, with a gorgeous family, strong faith and a famous brother (Does The Bachelor ring a bell? Yep, she’s Sean Lowe’s sister!) Check out both of her blogs for incredibly easy family recipes and more about her travels and family life.

[Diesel Watch/Michael Kors Tote/Gap Jacket]
Carly | Thirty Something Fashion
Carly of Thirty Something Fashion is a stylist with incredible credentials – including working for Neiman’s and Nicole Miller, styling high profile clients and producing runway shows. Her ability to mix high and low fashion makes her accessible to everyone. But what I love most about her is that she’s totally approachable, down-to-earth and just a really sweet, beautiful girl.

[Zoe Necklace/Sam Edelman Shoes/Cargo Pants]
Sherry | The Life of the Party
Sherry is another total sweetheart. I hand picked all of these moms in large part because they are genuinely NICE people. Yes, nice matters. 🙂 She’s an events planner and fashionable mama living in Hawaii. (Jealous? Yeah, me too.) Sherry’s blog features beautiful outfit photo shoots from around the island as well as gorgeous home decor and party planning inspiration.

[Kate Spade Wallet/Michael Kors Watch/Kate Spade Eau de Parfum]
Jenni | Found in my Closet
Jenni has the ability to put together an outfit like nobody’s business. Her almost two million set views on Polyvore are a testament to her amazing abilities. She’s an Anthro lover (hey, Anthro, this girl needs to be your ambassador!), an expert at creating color combos and an accessorizing maven.

Last but not least, I bring you my own picks…
and yes, I do have three kids but when your son is a teenager, pics with mom are way “uncool”. 🙁

[Cannondale Bike/Kendra Scott Earrings/Warby Parker Sunglasses]
Yes, a mountain bike. Our family’s favorite activity is biking, we go year-round. But I’ve been riding the same old beat-up men’s Cannondale that I bought for $75 from a student at SMU years ago. I’ve paid my dues on that clunker. Mama needs a new bike!
I must also mention my love of these Kendra Scott Danielle earrings. Last weekend I tried out the new colors in their just released summer collection Island Escape and instantly fell in love, especially with this pretty sea foam green.

Texas spring humidity and my hair are NOT friends, ya’ll.
Most days all I want to do with the humidity-amplified poufiness of my naturally curly mop is tame it by tying it up. That’s why I’ve been rocking the top knot so much lately. It’s been a refreshing alternative to my typical mom ponytail rut.
Creating this top knot takes about three minutes total. Here’s how:
Step 1: Apply a smoothing cream to dry hair.
Step 2: Rake fingers through hair and gather into a high ponytail. The ponytail should be a few inches back from the top of your head.
Step 3: Separate ponytail into three sections. Twist ends of each and using bobby pins, secure into loose bun.
Want more ponytail alternatives? Here’s another hair tutorial to create a sexy, loose bun. Be sure to watch it through to the end and enter to win $100, $250 or more!

[Gap – Neon Shirtdress]
Remember when I professed my love of easy shirt dress outfits in this post?
Today’s outfit is the poster child. It’s simple, yet put together and it works for just about anything. Not into wedges? Swap them out for a pair of sandals or flats. This look can be easily dressed up or down for any occasion.
This dress is a *little* shorter than what I’d normally wear. Like short enough for my hubby to say “ay chi hua hua!” when he saw it. Maybe I’ll save the heels with it just for him. 🙂
P.S. Fake tan courtesy of Jergen’s Natural Glow, my hero.
