The Winter/Holiday GYPO Challenge is coming to an end this week. This is by far my most favorite challenge! The dressy outfits for the holiday festivities play a special part of why I have enjoyed it. I have been hearing how easy it is to enjoy the time with family and friends since the challengers already know what they need to wear the night before. During this time of the year, it is important to spend a lot less time stressing and more time celebrating. 🙂
This week, we styled a poncho, plaid shirt, black jeans and riding boots. Here’s the inspiration outfit for this comfy look:

December is one of my favorite months for many reasons, but mostly because of the traditions we have around Christmas. One of those traditions is, of course, shopping for gifts. My husband Craig and I make an event out of it every year. He usually takes a few Fridays off for us to finish up shopping for anything we haven’t gotten online. We start early in the morning, have a nice, relaxing lunch while reviewing our list and finish up in the afternoon before we have to pick the girls up from school.
On those days, I like to wear outfits that are comfortable and put together, but feel a little festive and fun. This outfit fits the bill perfectly – comfy flats, festive plaid and just the right amount of sparkle.

Fall just seems to beckon for adventure, doesn’t it? After the long, brutal summers we endure in Texas, it’s no wonder fall is my favorite time of the year. Our family takes every opportunity we can to get out and enjoy the crisp cool mornings and clear afternoons. One of our all-time favorite fall activities is taking a hike and breathing in the autumn air.

Freezing temps blew into north Texas last week. Time for puffer jackets, layering and warm socks. I even broke down and bought my very first pair of rain boots. They’re so cute and comfy that I’m hoping for more inclement weather!
