Whether your sofa is a year old or ten years old there’s nothing wrong with giving it a little sofa refresh. Refreshing your sofa doesn’t have to be complicated either. Yes, you could paint your walls or look at slipcovers or if it’s really worth it, reupholstering to change the look of your sofa but who has time for that? Easy and simple is what we’re all about and did we mention budget friendly too? Plus, this way when you’re feeling a change coming on again, you’ll know just what to do. Below are a few easy and budget-friendly ways to update your sofa. We’re pretty sure they’ll have you falling in love with your sofa all over again.
1. Linen Spray
Aside from the kitchen, the sofa is also a major hub in the home. It’s the central location for family movie night and sometimes doubles as the kitchen table, your toddler’s jungle gym, or the perfect place to nap. That being said you sofa goes through a lot on a daily basis and sometimes smells from all that action can get trapped in the fabric. By using a linen spray specially designed for your sofa, you’ll be able to literally breath new life into it.
The good news is there are so many different brands on the market to try. Some simply add a light scent while other help kill germs and other allergens. Before you go too crazy with the spray, first try it in an inconspicuous area to ensure it won’t stain or leave any marks. This will also help you test out the scent to ensure that you’ll like it once you spray your whole sofa. If your sofa could use a deeper clean we recommend this spot cleaning tool. Again, make sure to test in an inconspicuous area first to be safe.
More often than not just updating the throw pillows on your couch is enough to give it new life. Add pops of color and print to totally transform the look. When updating your pillows you have many options. You can keep your old ones and simply buy new pillow covers. When doing this, buy pillow covers two inches smaller than the pillow to achieve a full, plump pillow that will stand on it’s own. By doing this simple hack, you’ll be able to keep you pillows from looking sad and slumped and more HGTV ready. Also, don’t be afraid to vary your pillows in size and texture to create a more interesting look for your sofa refresh.
The great sofa throw can provide the perfect balance of interest and function. There’s nothing better than cozying up on the sofa with a nice soft throw but you can also use it to add some great texture to your sofa when not in use. Not quite sure how to incorporate a throw on your sofa? To style a throw, try folding it neatly and placing it over the arm of the couch. Leave it long but not touching the floor. Another idea, fold the throw in thirds length wise and lay down the center of the couch again making sure it doesn’t touch the floor. Lastly try cascading it down one end of the sofa starting with it either over the back cushion or the arm rest and down over the seat. Check out more ideas for how to style your throw HERE!

It’s about this time of year that we’re able to focus back on ourselves. The holidays are over and now we can focus on the little things that make us happy and feel put together. One of those things being our nails. Nail trends are always changing, and it can be hard to keep up with the latest and greatest. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! Whether you’re looking for something simple and understated or something more bold and eye-catching, there’s sure to be a trend perfect for you. This winter’s all about simplicity and minimal nails but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some eye-catching colors in the mix. Check out these fabulous nail trends for winter and get ready to give your nails some TLC this season!
1. One Coat Shimmer
Whether you’re using an iridescent polish or one with glitter, the one-and-done rule applies to nails this winter. The goal of this trend is to still be able to see some of your natural nails below the polish. Not only does this make applying your polish super easy and fast but it cuts the drying time down. So grab your favorite shimmery nail polish, apply a sheer coat and you’re good to go!
If you like red, but you’re over the bright holiday reds then this trend is for you. Deep reds are looking gorgeous this winter. Try a dark cherry red or maybe one with a little brown undertone to it.
Nails are staying very simple this winter with the one coat shimmers and of course nudes and ultra-sheer polishes. You can never go wrong with a barely-there polish that adds just a little bit of something to your nails.
This color trend is no surprise as Very Peri was just named the Pantone 2022 Color of The Year. While it may be hard to find an exact color by this name, any periwinkle color will work. This color, although mainly purple in looks also lends itself to blue making it a great winter color.
Who says pastels are only for spring? A dreamy pastel pink polish is perfect for this wintery season. To help make you pastel pink pop try using a milky base coat link Orly’s Orlon Base Coat.
Pearls on your nails are everywhere this winter but if you’re not sure about adding these rounded accents to your nails, then using a pearl white polish will still give you all the pearly shimmer but in a much easier to do it yourself way.
The classic white french tips are getting a metallic makeover this winter with chrome, gold, and lots of sparkles! You can’t go wrong with a thick or thin french tip and for a little extra sparkle, try adding a glitter polish like Essie’s Set in Stone over top.
Good news for all you short nail lovers, short rounded and squared nails also called squoval nails as well as short oval-shaped nails are super on-trend this season. If you like your nails short and neat then this is the way to go!
Do you struggle to put outfits together? Are you stuck in a yoga pants rut? Not sure if you can make the latest trends work for you? You’re in the right place!

I’ve been participating in the GYPO Style Challenges for three years now and I’ve loved it. I’ve always loved clothes, but I didn’t know how to put outfits together. My closet is now full of mix-and-match outfits, I have learned how to dress myself, and there is no more stress in figuring out to wear. The private FB group is full of wonderful ladies that build each other up. It’s so fun and is seriously the best group on FB.

Get Your Pretty On has changed my life, seriously. I have always chased what is trendy but found from season to season, that things go out of style and I was wasting money on items that I would only end up wearing a few times. GYPO has enabled me to simplify my closet, helps me make smarter purchasing decisions, and I feel so put together and confident using the outfit formulas that are provided. This program is a GAME CHANGER. I've been following GYPO for a few years now and my only regret is not jumping on board sooner.

Great community of ladies, helping each other look stylish, without breaking the bank, and using much of what you already own.

GYPO challenges have been one of the best things I have done! It had taught me so much more than just creating a closet of clothes that I love but also to have confidence in myself, how to pick and choose colors that work for me instead of against, and had given a wonderful community of Pretties who are so special.
